Tom Cruise as a bad guy. It was strange at first, but it was alright. It's Jamie Foxx though, who carried the movie, and who made the movie to what it is: a very decent thriller.
Tom Cruise, you sly son of a bitch, Weve had a love hate relationship havent we? I love you, I hated you , loved you, and hated you again. Thankfully this movie was a love.
I don't know why, but I have watched this film several times and can still watch it again without being tired of it. It works for me on a level that I can;t explain. It has good strong performances and a story line with a few twists. A thriller/drama...entertaining
This is actually a good Tom Cruise movie., thanks to a solid script and tight pacing with director Michael Mann. Cruise plays a hitman who instructs his cab driver to help him kill on a night in LA. Some amazing visuals mark this as quite suspenseful. Cruise's bad guy is pretty spot on.
The acting is pretty decent, especially Cruise, but I thought Foxx was absolutely terrible, so of course he gets the Oscar nomination. The movie also drags in places and gets very boring at the end.
Tom Cruise gives a rare villanous role and Jamie Fox's acting is amazing, he makes you believe that he's under the intense pressure that he's in. A very good thriller which marks a return to a Hitchcockian style of filmmaking.
Ce film semble ne pas être ce qu'il aurait du être! La situation se déroule en majeur partie au alentour, si ce n'est pas dans le taxi. Ce film va nulle part. On ne sait pas trop ce que Vincent (Tom Cruise) fait comme travail ainsi que tout ce qui l'entour. Très peu d'action, quelque peu de morale sur où mène la vie.
Et puis ... pourquoi Tom Cruise a les cheveux gris. Il est laid !!! Il ne semble même pas avoir de l'âge. Son personnage devrait ressemblé à un James Bond ou quelque chose comme cela. Une personne relativement propre, mais qui a tout de même de la gueule et du culot. Jamie Fox est merveilleux, mais pour Tom Cruise, il est complètement hors cible sur ce personnage. Désolé Tom, mais cette fois, tu repassera :P

The same eternal problem with almost every Michael Mann film, solid direction, average performances, awful script. Too much bad stuff to save the good parts.
Tense, brilliantly acted and an un-denialbly fantastic plot, Collateral puts the Great into "Modern Great". Michael Mann's exellent direction stays strong throughout, making a fun film to watch in the first place, visually fun to watch at the same time.

the one scene i love more than any other is when the cab stops at lights and a foxs runs by followed by a wolf, that one scene on its own sums up the whole move and is so powerful it hits more right away!
If you ask me four stars, all the people who say Tom Cruise isn't cool - you mean he is a scientologist, but I couldn't have played this role, neither can you. Bye
Wow it sucked and to make it worse Tom was in it. Okay, I probably rated it down because of Tom Cruise. However, it just wasn't that good, in fact it was boring. The same tired old plot. Give me something original, and stop trying to make out Tom Cruise is cool, becaus e he just isn't.
A very suspenseful thrill ride. In a surprising turn from the norm, Tom Cruise actually plays a hitman - and very well. Suspiciously well in fact. And Jaime Foxx is always a great actor, and he shines once again in this film. I didn't really know much about it coming into it, but I loved it. Great story, great actors & great action. I recommend this film for everyone.
Michael Mann you have an eye, and you always get terrrific performances out of your actors. I just don't like your movies. This one was an exception though. Good film.
Tom Cruise as a Sadistic Socialpath Blood hungry whatever they call them Hitman here. One of his better performances although Magnolia his obvious best. Jamie Foxx really holds it together though... and Michael man is brilliant as always you definitely see a bit of Heat and some Miami Vice in the film. NOT BAD
