well is John Malkovich not great? He even had a fictional movie about him! This movie is him trying to be someone else...him playing someone trying to be someone else. either way its great.

Flat, dull, and exceedingly boring; Colour Me Kubrick merely meanders its way through con after con in a pointless screenplay with no plot. Malkovich does well in his part, but the highlights end there. For what could have been an encompassing film of Kubrick references, Colour Me Kubrick winds up as a waste of time. Spend your hours doing something more meangingful.

Not as fun as it should be with a main character who we cannot identify with at all. The story unfolds in a bit of an awkward way. Still, quite interesting.

It is a kubrick movie without kubrick but the legendary Malkovich, it is amazing. Malkovich is amazing.

This tells the true-ish story (whatever that means) of a con- man named Allen Conway, who went around London posing as director Stanley Kubrick, while Eyes Wide Shut was being filmed. And people actually believed him, even though he looked nothing like Kubrick. Sounds pretty interesting, but from the evidence on display here, it wasn't interesting enough to rate being made into a movie. John Malkovich has a lot of fun with the role of Conway. In fact, he probably has more fun than anyone watching this. It's just too much of the same thing over and over again. It's not terrible, just nothing to get very excited about.

Kind of a strange project for Malkovich, but he plays it well enough. Even if it is a poorly constructed one joke movie.

A true...ish story. It was interesting to see this man who pretended to be Stanley Kubrick in a movie. And the movie of course had lots of references to Kubrick movies mostly with its soundtrack. Mr. Malkovich is trying his best to carry the movie but I guess one interesting character is not enough to make a good movie. This could be a little better with a good script.

Very interesting movie, based on a true story, and made to feel a bit like a Kubrick movie, with great acting from Mr.Malkovich.

John Malkovich's eccentric performance as the so-weird-of-course-he-was-real con man Alan Conway -- a flamboyant alcoholic who claimed to be Stanley Kubrick for years around various parts of London -- is hands down the most memorable thing about this movie. Unfortunately, neither "eccentric" nor "memorable" directly equate to "good." Nearly everything about the movie is pedestrian, and the director seems too afraid of interfering with Malkovich's actorly persona to help him give a serious, focused performance that's not 50% Camp-ovich and 50% Malko-camp. Too bad, 'cause Conway's a curious figure, and finding out what made him tick could have been a helluva good time. But here it's only a (very) mild diversion.

Boring, Yeah John Malkovich was great but the movie itself wasn't complete. Most of the movie is Alan Conway sitting in clubs or gay bars trying to convince people that he is Stanley Kubrick, and that gets old really fast. Virtually no insight is given as to what drives Conway's need to escape the insignificance of his life. Within this film there is no great commentary, no grand message, and no prevailing plot. While director/prod Brian Cook was one of Kubrick's assistant directors we see that little to no talent ever rubbed off. One can credit Color Me Kubrick as a charming premise, but one gone sodden and awry with mediocre film-making.

John Malkovich is amazing in this movie. He is verry convincing as a psycho gay lonely freak..... I started to wonder if that is how he is in real life.

Irony, sarcasm, the mischiveous mind... didn't I say before how I love this kind of personalities?
This is one of the best works from Malkovich!!! Also is about one of my favorite directors: Stanley Kubrick.
It's about a real event that happened before Stanley died. He was shooting Eyes wide shut, and Alan Conway somehow, someway, always convinced people that he WAS Stanley Kubrick!!! So he got into a few trouble, but he also got meals and drinks in the most fancy restaurants and high society parties in England. Funny thing is how the director of this movie plays along with the music from Stanley Kubrick's movies!!! It's great!!!
Of course, you'll be able to understand a lot of details if you watched Stanley Kubrick's movies before watching this one.
I totally recommend it. If you are a Kubrick's fan (who isn't) you'll love it too.

Well first off, this movie is GAY. As in homosexual.....not dumb. Its pretty hard for me to get around Malkovitch being all...grabby....with the bright colors, and the prancing...But I can't help but find this true story actually pretty interesting. John Malcovitch is a great actor, as always. And he plays quite a funny fruit. However this movie is just too long, drawn-out, and...gay...for me to personally be a fan.

it was funny but really embarrassing to watch. It was more like watching a years worth of a sketch comedy routine back to back.

starring John Malkovich as Alan Conway a man who goes around pretending to be Stanley Kubrick. What makes this something to maybe see is the fact that it was written by Kubrick's long time assistant, Anthony Frewin. And directed by Kubrick's long time assistant director, Brian W. Cook. They must have great insight into this theme. Sadly I doubt this will make it to Yuma. So if you get the chance to see it, let me know how it was.

While John Malkovich gives a really good performance in this "strange but true" biopic of Allan Conway, an con man who convinced many people that he was reclusive director Stanley Kubrick despte not looking like him and not know anything about his films, but it sadly never quite succeeds on it's interesting premise. It gets a little too repetitve after a while 'cause it pretty much follows Conway doing one con after the other, which makes it a little dull. Also we never really get inside the head of Conway and what gave him the motivation for why he did it, which I thought needed to be explored more. The biggest suprise for me about this film was that rocker Bryan Adams wrote songs AND did the score for it, which I didn't know until I saw his name in the end credits! Overall it is an okay watch but it could have been better.

Malkovich was amazing. Quite funny at times. Based on a true story. You could certainly do worse than this movie. The making of in the special features is also very interesting.

Interesting and entertaining. Malkovich was great as he usuakky is. I liked how they used the music from several of Stanley Kubrick's movies in the soundtrack.

A quirky and unusual "almost true" story of Briitish con artist Alan Conway, who fooled much of society into believing that he was famed reclusive filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.

John Malkovich's performance is fun and mesmerizing. But was also awkward and uneasy at times.
It was very fun to watch actors of the past in small roles such as Honor Blackman, Robert Powell, Marisa Berenson, and a funny performance from Director Ken Russell.

this is pretty damned funny.. in a disturbing way.. it is a bit strange.. his portrayal seems similar in some ways to David Bowie's Andy Warhol role from Basquiat..

John Malkovich is once again over the top. Some sly references to Kubrick's films and an obligatory self-plug.

In my opinion,This flick is simply too shallow.Too many cheap theatrical tricks, and empty scenes inside it (As the hammy John Malkovich kept changing his character's persona and accent as many times.)This is ultimately an irrelevant comedy.
