Exactly what it should/could/would be, with an amazing cast and great intentions leading to a great comedy in the vein of 'Some Like It Hot.'

I honestly liked this movie and often find myself watching it over and over again when I'm feeling down. I guess there's just something about experiencing all those musicals in such fun and entertaining bits.

While this movie won't change your life or make you think in new ways, it will make you smile and help anyone who appreciates the campiness of show tunes and musicals in general have some honest to goodness fun.

Unlike my big fat greek wedding this is NOT "a watch it over and over movie". It was fun the first time around.

i watched it, it was pretty funny how the actors put such stupidity into a movie making everything pathetic like how they chose to go in that movie

An appealing topic underrated in Hollywood.
"women in drag" hope to have more good scripts about it & major companies trusting and bringing them to the big screen.

    Genius DEBBIE REYNOLDS CAMEO!

I have made everyone I know watch this movie & so far Everyone loves it. This is a truly hilarious good time. Nia has a great talent for script writing. This was tons better than My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I can't wait to see what else she creates. After you are done cracking up watching the movie on 1st take, re-watch it with the commentary & have even more laughs & learn a few pretty cool background tidbits. By now I have probably seen this film about 10 times and it never gets less enjoyable! A smart witty comedy with out the foul language sex or violence. I know, hard to believe but it is true now add it to your rental queue!!!!

It is a guilty pleasure movie of mine. The songs are catchy and I love the acting performances by Toni Collette and Nia Vardalos. Toni and Nia are great at portraying women pretending to be gay cross-dressers. The ending is kind of cheesy and predictable but I still love this movie.

The film is predictable, yet there are some very funny moments, and nice performances from Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette. It's a shame about the boring and INTENSELY PREDICTABLE ending however.

This is a funny movie! It centers around Nia Vardalos's character, but Toni Collette is AMAZING in this movie! I just wish she was in it more.

After accidentally witnessing a mafia hit in the Windy City, gal pals Connie and Carla skip town for L.A., where they go way undercover as singers working the city's dinner theater circuit ... as drag queens. Now, it's not enough that they become big hits on the scene; things get extra-weird when Connie meets Jeff -- a guy she'd like to be a woman with.

Cheezy but fun. I love Toni Collette, she is highly under rated, and I feel she is quite talented. Check this flick out.

This is a one joke movie - and it's not a very funny one. Still, Toni Colette is probably the best drag queen in a film ever and the musical numbers are performed to it's very best.

this is a super funny movie. two friends can only find an apartment to rent in a gay community. but for them to be able to stay living there, they have to pretent to mbe guys who are drag queens. they also get a part of a bar near by. it is super funny, kept me in stichtes the whole time.

Toni Collette and Nia Vardalos play women pretending to be men being women. Underrated but with touchs of stereotypical portrayals of gay men still funny. I loved Debbie Reynolds presence.
    Drag Queens rock!

Borrowing liberally from Sister Act, Victor/Victoria, Some Like It Hot and Thelma & Louise amongst others, Connie And Carla was a lot better, in my opinion of course, than the extremely bad press it got in the UK suggested.

Two friends trying to make it big, but failing, with their cabaret act (they play to a disinterested crowd of jet-lagged individuals at airport lounges), witness a murder, and are discovered doing so, by members of a local mob. Fearing for their lives, they flee to Los Angeles where they find success with their act by posing as drag queens (which makes them women posing as men dressed as women) at a dwindling gay bar. Inevitably, one of their pair becomes romantically interested in a straight guy, and with their act becoming more successful they risk having their secrets found out and the mob catching up with them.

Things start to fall apart a bit around the time of the cameo appearance of a certain someone (whose shtick was served much better in smaller doses in episodes of Will & Grace), and it seems like the story has nowhere else to go. The film ends predictably amid much talk of the meaning of being true to oneself, but the happy ending isn't oversold. Toni Collette is good in pretty much everything she does, and I have to admit that I've probably added an extra half star because of her presence and her fantastic ad-libs. Nia Vardalos is also less punchable here than she was in My Big Fat Greek Weeding, and David Duchovny thankfully keeps it low key as the love interest. The laughs are hit and miss at times, but as a whole the film is worth a watch and passes the time quite nicely.
