Classic movie! Great sports film about a group of Jamaican athletes who didn't make it to the olympics so decided to try out a new sport. Bobsleighing!! So then, we get the first Jamaican bobsled team...and a whole lot of laughs!! A great, light hearted comedy! -

Holy crap! I was JUST thinking about this movie and was about to go look it up to rate it, but it showed up randomly. For some reason I loved this movie as a kid. I had it on VHS and watched it all the time. The comedy wasn't great, but I was totally into the story...

This is a childhood favorite of mine which I had to include. The four bobsledding Jamaicans are such fun and John Candy is brilliant to put as their over the hill coach. Of the sports genre underdog films this is my favorite. It is has a perfect balance of seriousness with comedy which is generally provided by Sanka Coffie, Doug E. Doug, who is practically an odd ball compare to the other actually serious group. What could be more bizarre than a people used to the heat and with no ice really to practice on to actually attempt to challenge the world?s elite. ?Sanka, you dead?? ?Ya man.?

THIS WAS ONE FOR THE AGES.
THE THOUGHT OF BOBSLEDDERS COMING FROM JAMAICA AS IF THEY'VE BEEN EXPOSED TO WINTER? IT WAS INTERESTING BUT DOUG E. DOUG AND JOHN CANDY MADE THIS MOVIE FUNNY. IT'S A GOOD ONE TO SEE. -

I don't expect everyone to love this movie as much as I do, but it's a sentimental favourite of mine. One of the first movies I've ever seen, and one of the reasons I love movies today.

Very funny movie. Where you live hot places, you should stay with doing hot sports, but this movie proves it wrong. Its funny and shows great team work.

You can't really argue with a film starring John Candy AND a bunch of stereotypical Jamaicans. Possibly the best Christmas Day film there is.

A classic if there ever was one. It's a pretty ridiculous interpretation of real life events, but you can't help but love it. John Candy heads up a mixed bag of actors that each bring their own charm to this film. It's a little more coarse (as far as content goes) than a lot of modern Disney movies, but being filmed in the early nineties, it makes sense. It's a great family movie, and based loosely on a true story, so it's worth a watch!

Great film about a few Jamaican dudes who go to the wintersport olympics. Based on a true story. -
MCT:February 11, 2008contrary to the movie portrayal, Calgary isn't a winter waste land, It's a dry desert of death in the winters, where the snow becomes like "Dry Ice" and dry dirt blows around. These are called Chinooks, but now because of global warming.... Calgary resembles a desert! There was problems with the bob sled run, as gravel and dirt kept on clogging the sky run. oddly though just a few hours away in banff, then it's wintery conditions again (for the ski events). Zanka what you smoking... I'm not smoking I'm breathing.

It is soooooooo funny!!!! I love it!!! Sanka is my favorite, especially his song and when he's in the ice cream truck and is like, "I-i-i-ce-e-e" hee hee, its so funny, it never fails to make me laugh...
