Ive been a fan of Bakshi's work since I saw Fritz the Cat and here (mixing live action and animation) he creates a very solid blaxploitation flix that stands well w/ others of the genre. Great voice work by Barry White & Scatman Crothers who also sings the theme song

Groundbreaking as it was when it premiered in 1975,this was also very controversial. Set in the gritty streets of Harlem during the 1970's, this was crazy animation at the next level and this went way beyond Bakshi's previous works with a hint of Disney's "Song of the South" comp...( read more)

A very entertaing cartoon film about gangsters. A very funny and interesting plot. Some people would consider this racist these days, everything being PC. I found it to be a cool film.

The footage of Scatman Crothers singing Nigger Man over the credits is better than most entire movies. Good luck finding it though. I had to steal it off the internet.
