Rare to find a movie about an interacial couple in the 1950's. One can only imagine how hard it must have been for familes like theirs back in the day.
Whoopi Goldberg is fantastic as the Nanny who grows to love the little girl as a daughter. It was so beautiful how her character got the little girl to talk again after she'd been walking around mute since her mother died. Ray Liotta played a fantastic role as her love interest and the girl's father. Great movie to watch on a night in if you like a good weepie...hankie's at the ready!
i loved this movie, the story itself is great and placing it in the 50's is quite a jump into things. ray liotta is one of my favorites, as is whoopi goldberg, they did a super job. very touching.
I really liked this movie. I liked Whoopi's character and really felt like it was believable. Ray Liotta is pretty good too. :)
i really like this film, the three main actors are great, its a sweet funny and nice film. worth watching.
this is such an underrated movie for both Ray and Whoopi....make sure u have some kleenex ready...i cry almost every time.
one of whoopi's best films i swear! amazing and a perfect decade to set the film in i mean in the 50's that was considered rong almost LOVE THE FILM!!!!
Movie about a broken family. A man's wife dies and he employs a housekeeper to help bring up his daughter. Good cast.
Oh my I really liked this movie. That little girl was so lucky to fing Corrina after her mother died.Corrina and her father made her life turn better again:)
I LOVE this movie!! Such a heart warming story.
Whoopi did a really good job in this and tina majorino is too cute!
whoopi golodberg as always is entertaining and funny as ever. i like this film. its light and its about family.
I honestly could watch this movie everyday! Its so warm and sweet and just great. TIs a great movie.
My mom used to hide this movie from me because I would watch it over and over...I think its a cute movie.
An OK movie. It is too bad that race matters. I thought the three main actors - Whoopi Goldberg, Ray Liotta and Tina Majorino (as Ray's kid) did a wonderful job.
Love it. A feel good movie. Ray Liotta and Whoopi Goldberg are excellent in this movie. The last movie Don Ameche did and even though he had suffered a stroke prior, he still did so well in his role. Love it 100%
omg! i love this movie, its one of the best ever! every time we stop at a stoplight i blow at it...(get ur head out of the gutter, u nasty sicko! lmao! j/k)...but yea its very good!
Was very good feel good movie. Really shows what life was like back then, and how people will treat you even now.
I think I watched this movie 3 times in a row the first time I rented it. I love all the 50's cultural images intertwined with this feel good story of loss and love.
A really sweet movie. Loved Whoopi's performance. A genuine movie. That little girl is so cute. A great cast.
I was touched by little Tina Majorino's acting especially in the scene with Corrina in which she says if her mom is dead, then she wants to be dead too.
This is one of the best aw'shucks how cute type movies ever. It's very emotionally fulfilling. I've said for years this would be great material for a musical but nobody seems to like to listen to me. This is definately a great family movie, with some adult themes.
