  Bizarre but amusing splatter film. Empire called it "the best British gore film since Hellraiser". With praise like that it was bound to disappoint some. Cradle of fear is a low-budget horror anthology. Whether you will enjoy the film will depend on whether you can get past the low-budget video look, several bad acting and the at times laughable effects. However, overall the most surprising thing about this film is how bad it is but good. The gore is excellent and some off the effects are very good though at times the over the top nature off the violence is at odds with the tone off the film. This however is not his masterpiece.

  I used to love this. A 'homage' to the horror anthology films of the 70s and 80s, it's not meant to be taken seriously. It's so bad it's good!

  When you read "The best british gore film since Hellraiser" on top of a dvd cover you immediately get high hopes.Unfortunately this doesn't live up to those high hopes.It's a B-movie and you can tell going by the dodgy acting and cheap effects.It's ok… More
  When you read "The best british gore film since Hellraiser" on top of a dvd cover you immediately get high hopes.Unfortunately this doesn't live up to those high hopes.It's a B-movie and you can tell going by the dodgy acting and cheap effects.It's ok though.Sort of.A mental serial killer called Kemper is locked up in an asylum but has a servant on the outside to do his murders for him and you basically see the victims stories and their demise as the film goes on.There's some very gory moments and the soundtracks not bad and feature's Cradle of Filth,whose vocalist,Dani Filth,plays Kemper's servant.Overall,despite a couple of unessesary gore moments,and the dodgy acting,for a B-movie,it's not bad i suppose.
