David Cronenberg?s ?Crash? isn?t for everybody. The theme of the film is sexually orientated to a particular fetish and really has nothing more to offer than adrenalin infused romps.

Don?t get me wrong, I?m not prudish when it comes to such films, but from the reviews I?ve pr...( read more)eviously received, I had thought this film was going to be some kind of controversial masterpiece.

Controversial and one of Cronenberg?s best

If you don't want to bang Deborah Kara Unger after seeing this, it's time to remove your penis. Elias Koteas makes this 10 times weirder.

I've read the novel and seen Crash in a theatre. It is a pretty strange movie/play. But I still want to see it again when it comes on TV.

Typical Cronemberg thing: a great idea (original and totallly twisted) with somehow disappointing results. Well, all in all, it remains a bad-ass Cronemberg masterpiece :-)

Quite the movie. It's very sexy and dark with a lot of deeper meanings. If you can watch it with an open mind, then you'll find a movie here that's unlike any other.

If I had to recommend just one Cronenburg to watch to someone who had never seen him before...Crash would not be one of them, but it still remains one of my favorite works by him. Up until Crash, bizarre technology fetishes had been an undercurrent in just about every Cronenburg ...( read more)film, Crash seem almost like Cronenburg coming out of the closet about the subject. Since I've always considered it one of the most interesting and possible contagious aspects of this director, so I have an obvious interest in this film but as they say in Tvtropesland, your mileage may vary.

It's a good looking film, but the director's style and storytelling I didn't like. It's just fine. I have read the book. It's just that it did not meet my expectations.

I tried very hard to give this film three stars but could not bring myself to. The story just does not do it for me. It got ridiculous at certain points. I did watch the NC 17 version, so I'm sure I got many extra sex scenes thrown at me, but still. This was way too much. Kot...( read more)eas's character was damaged from the beginning, that was obviously. But Spader's and Unger's characters were just a normal married couple in an open relationship. Their transition to addicts of their new fetish didn't seem too developed. Plus the guy on guy scene hurt the film experience for me. I just think this is a book that cannot be adapted properly into film perhaps, who knows? The acting was top notch, along with the direction of this sub par script, and the cinematography was outstanding. This film could have been better. I'd recommend it to only die hard Cronenberg fans.
