Plot: "Crazy Love" is an unsettling true story about an obsessive relationship between a married man and a beautiful, single 20-year old woman, which began in 1957 and continues today.
Lets see:
man meets girl but man is still married but girl does not know, man and girl have a tumultous relationship, girl breaks it off, man hires goons to throw lye in her face blinding girl. WOW!
But girl eventually takes man back...
This could be the most fucked up 'love story" I have heard of. My college sophomore level pyschology is that girl did NOT want the man back but she felt like she could not do any better. It was heartbresking to watch. the girl has a gumption and a sass in her old age and the man came across as pure evil...he is a bastard.
One of the most bizaree documentaries I have seen. A man blinds his ex.girlfriend by having lye thrown in her face after they break-up in the 1950s and then marries her after getting out of prison for this crime. It is very interesting to watch and hear about the two people and to see they are still together today! Definitely a weird but good film to watch.
I don't know who is battier...the dude that throws lye in a broad's face because he can't have her or the broad that marries him because she can't have anybody else...because she is friggin' blind. Sick doc...very interesting. And creepy.
Awesome movie. Sad and pathetic at times but all in all a great flick. Burt Pugach is a crazy m-fer. Would def. recommend.
Not bad, but I just didn't like it. I didn't like anyone in it, and really didn't care about anyone here.
An interesting and messed up story about a man who becomes obsessed with a women, even to the point where he pays someone to blind her with acid, and her eventually marrying him. Very strange, but true.
Good. . .lord. A documentary that proves that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. I would love to see this made into a movie; I can just imagine what Paul Giamatti could do with the role of Burt Pugach. Of course, no one would believe it was based on a true story. At turns hilarious and horrifying, but always fascinating. Needs to be seen to be believed.
This documentary recounts the twisted tale of Burt Pugach, a successful New York lawyer who fell madly in love with 20 year-old Linda Riss in 1957. Linda initially loved the attention from the wealthy older man, but eventually tired of him and dumped him for someone closer to her own age. Burt decided that if he couldn't have Linda no one would, and hired someone to throw acid in her face, partially blinding her and changing both their lives forever. Burt was convicted and spent 9 years behind bars for his part in the crime, but wrote letters to Linda from prison professing his undying love for her. When he was released from prison, they started seeing each other again, and eventually ended up getting married, once again proving the old adage 'truth is stranger than fiction'. It's certainly a bizarre and fascinating story, but the film itself doesn't generate much interest, even though it relies partly on recent interviews with Burt and Linda to tell the story. It just lacks a certain oomph that might raise it above the average.

based on a true story. A mesmerizing and very compelling documentary about obsessive love betwen a prominent new york lawyer and a young 20 year woman that goes on for over 50 years.
Disturbing but fascinating documentary about a man who blinded his girlfriend in a fit of rage, went to jail for 14 years, got out, and eventually married her. Wow. Along the way he cheats on her multiple times, but she remains devoted and faithful. Always interesting, but the film consists mainly of static talking head shots.
This might be an interresting one, though I probably won't get around to seeing it any time soon, if at all.
