  Tobe Hooper returns with another killer-reptillian themed film with the first being the odd 1977 video nasty Eaten Alive (aka Death Trap). This one is pretty standard stuff about a pissed off over-sized Croc munching its way through a group of teens on spring break holiday on Lake Sobek. It's actually quite entertaining despite the unoriginal plot and bad effects. Could have done with a bit more gore, but the film is never boring and is a decent time-filler. Probably the most enjoyable of the Nu-Image creature-feature productions.

  The director of the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre brings us this fantastic slice of creature feature entertainment. Terrible CGI and very poor acting make this a comical masterpiece. It does however have some slow points, and a bizarre back story.

  I remember seeing the debut of this on the SyFy channel back when it had the less gay Sci-Fi Schannel logo. I thing (but I'm not sure) that this and Octopus were the first two Sci-Fi original features and I remember watching them back to back. This was before the days of On Demnad, DVR's and Netflix, so basically you were stuck with what was on live TV at that moment. Big monsters eating people is a usual go-to for me if all else fails. The honestly doesn't suck for what it is. The F/X work for the crocodile is not great but its way way wayyyyy better than some of the shit they try to pass off now. Probably not worth your time but if you really really have a thing for creature features than give it a go.

  A straight-forward creature feature featuring an enormous critter going after a bunch of American douche-bags and morons, killing all but a few in its way. Nothing new but this one does it below par. The CGI effects are terrible and while they deliver good laughs, they make it impossible to be scared by the crocodile. One thing that really annoyed me about this film is the desperate attempt of the film makers to infuse the simple premise of monster vs. humans with some sort of ridiculous mythology behind the creature, Egypt, a haunted hotel, generations of dead hunters, what the fuck ? Just let the beast go about its business, don't blur it with superficial narratives. If there is nothing else in the house, watch this, but it is a bad creature feature.
