The comparatively unknown Thomas Carrigan stars as Blackie, a not-completely-reformed crook who devotes his life to righting wrongs. In this case, Blackie wants to wreak vengeance upon the cruel and merciless judge who was partially responsible for the death of a kindly old convict. To expedite this, Blackie takes the judge's son (Owen Gorine) under his wing and attempts to steer the lad into a criminal career. He is reformed by sweet Laura LaPlante, daughter of the deceased convict. By the time Boston Blackie became a B-picture hero at Columbia in the 1940s, all criminal tendencies had been smothered and buried. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
