Drink slinger Nicky has fallen on hard times, and it looks as if he will never find the funds needed to get back on his feet. His luck begins to look up, however, when ageing, drunken postman Sol Solzberg stumbles into Nicky's watering hole detailing his lifelong plan to steal a collection of rare stamps with inverted centers, and claiming that no one who works there will ever even notice that the so-called "errors, freaks, and oddities" are even missing. When Sol suddenly suffers a fatal heart attack, Nicky works around the clock to assemble the skilled team of thieves needed to pull off the complex heist.
