Writer-director Roger Kumble's original was no classic, Lord knows, but at least the game, nubile cast knew how to smack its lips--his follow-up (which, in tamer form, was to be the pilot for a proposed series called Manchester Prep) can't even pout properly. Phillippe's Sebastian character (here played by a bland, doughy Robin Dunne) is carted back out to be reintroduced to scheming stepsister Kathryn, enacted by a woefully unsexy Amy Adams (Sarah Michelle Gellar played Sebastian's ripe cousin in the first film). The two don't hit it off, and Sebastian--far more sentimental than his big-screen counterpart--immediately decides he's all for love, in the form of pristine deb Danielle (Sarah Thompson). It all amounts to a ponderously cartoonish nothing, including a twist ending that renders everything proceeding it completely incomprehensible. Kumble has the film spouting homilies on love and self-esteem, then randomly throws in bare breasts; it's like a horny Saved by the Bell, without the kick or pacing of good camp. --Steve Wiecking

    Watched this to see if Amy Adams could do anything but bubble nice girl. Turns out she can be bubbly nice but scowly. This had one of the oddest turn arounds in movie history with the exception of maybe Perfume. The whole movie builds up a really weak and pointless plot, but in t...( read more)he last 20 minutes in suddenly decides to trash it all and try to make it sexy without making it worth while watching sexy. In the end all that it works for is destroyed and you are left there feeling the need to poop.

    I gave this movie 2 stars because of the ending! I never saw that coming and it was awesome! I wish they would have shown some of it though...Some hot females in the cast, including Amy Adams from years ago. The character played by Sarah Thompson is very hot and I won't ruin t...( read more)oo much, but I will say that she isn't what she seems. Keri Lynn Pratt plays a very cute and naive freshman. Robin Dunne plays a good Sebastian. The actors did ok for what they had to work with as far as a script is concerned. I wouldn't watch this again.
