    just saw "cruel intentions" and am very pleased. that is MY kind of movie. really screwed up drama where true love really does win. the only flaw-he didn't have to die at the end. taht just made it too cliche, almost undid all the work to make it intruiging and twisted in the fir...( read more)st place. i thought that the sex scene between sebastian valmont and annette was done particularly well; it captured the surrender of not only her true feelings but also his vulnerability. he might have been a real jerk to those who he did not love, but to the one he did, he was an angel.
    quite literally, however, that brings me back to, oh yeah, my point. there could have been like a custody battle between the parents, and sebastian was forced to go somewhere far away after he recovered. leads a very nice opening to a sequel. actually i think there is a sequel. can't wait to get that one, though it will be hard to top the first. catherine is already ruined, as she deserves to be. one thing she does not deserve is to be given a chance to "have" sebastian...another thing, if he had not died, and his journal still replicated, at last he would have been able to get a fresh start. no one would act revenge upon him, given the hurt he suffered because of his own manipulation of annette, which he later found love in honesty. it does seem a tragedy that poor cecile was put through the wringer, but i believe she had the best triumph over all...

    I hate this movie so much that I love it beyond belief.
    the plot line is so unique, and the acting is amazing
    the whole story has you sucked in
    even if your disgusted with the characters, even if you want to stop you just can't because you have to find out what will happen to ...( read more)these characters.

    A damn good story, with amazing actors. Love the humour and it's bluntness. All around great flick to watch over and over and over and over. Or maybe that's just me.

    Some good acting here, and an unusual storyline, but cool. Such a sad and tradgic story in the end. A lot of sex bonding and rich life styles. Cute main guy and deffiently a catchy storyline. One worth seeing if you like romantic drama's.

    Needless to say, the acting on this film lacks credibility - Ryan Philippe should've tried harder to pose as the bad guy, the same thing goes for Sarah Michelle Gellar too.
    There are some cracks in the story and I think it all happened too fast - like, don't you need some time b...( read more)efore you fall madly in love with a guy you just met ?
    On the other hand, I really liked the plot ( I should read the book ), these type of dark and twisted stories are very interesting. Also, the soundtrack was chosen wisely and the orchestral stuff by Edward Shearmur was also adequate.
    I liked the ending, and probably, if the acting had been better, it would've been a great movie.

    incredibly cheesy but the fact that is drew me to watch it over 20 times in a short gap of about 6months tells you something about the movie, it is gripping beyond understanding. i have yet to see Dangerous Liaisons which it is supposed to be a remake of but i look forward to
