Jeepers. Flixster rates this as 3 1/2 stars. I found it a horribly childish waste of 90 minutes. Nowhere near the quality of other animated flicks I have seen like Ice Age or Shrek, etc.

cute, funny. i love the music! jack johson did a great job on the soundtrack. the bad part about this movie, is that it's not something you would want to see more than 1 time.

"Mr Bloomsbury's" (voiced by Dick Van Dyke) museum is in financial distress, and needs that one exibit that will bring the crowds back in. He eyes the mythical "Lost Shrine of Zagawa," a forty-foot tall ruby idol carved in the shape of a monkey. He is too elderly to make the trip to Africa, so he sends "Ted" (voiced by Will Ferrell), who suggested the idol in the first place.

"Ted", now wearing a yellow suit and matching yellow cowboy hat, leads an expedition to Africa in search of an idol, and meets a mischievous monkey who just loves to play Peek-a-Boo with him. He also finds what he believes to be the idol, but it turns out to be only three inches. Moments after finding the idol, "Bloomsbury" calls and "Ted" sends him a close-up photo which makes it appear huge.

A sadden "Ted" comes back with the tiny idol, not realizing that the monkey, who still has "Ted's" yellow hat, has stowed away on the ship back to America. Shortly after arrival, "Ted" discovers that "Bloomsbury" has the city covered in publicity for the idol. Even the cab driver who is bringing "Ted" back to his apartment building is anxious to see it.

When the monkey gets off the ship, he becomes quite curious of his new surroundings. He quickly finds "The Man with the Yellow Hat" and follows him home. He then surprises "Ted" by climbing through an apartment window, and the monkey quickly gets into trouble that causes "Ted" to be kicked out of the building.

Now, "Ted" has to figure out a way to bring the people what is being promoted, while keeping the monkey out of trouble.

The movie targets the very young. Adults might get pretty bored, but they will like the morals this movie presents in a cute fashion.

The animation, with exception of the obvious CGI cars, honors the books style nicely. You will feel as if you are reading the books even though the characters are moving and speaking. None of the characters are too over-the-top or scary, which will make parents happy.

The cast is perfect for their roles, especially Ferrell, whom I personally can't stand in his comedic movies. Each actor has brought their characters to life very nicely.

The music is very mellow, and conveys what is going on the screen nicely. However, this is not a Disney movie filled with memorable tunes, so you will not go nuts by the kids singing the songs over and over in the days following seeing the film.

Unless you have kids who are the target audience for the "Curious George" books, I would pass over this film.

    This film was so adorable.

Will Ferrell was so awesome as "The Man with the yellow Hat" and in showing where that trademark yellow suit came from with a modern twist was really cute.

I thought the animation was almost like you were watching the in between video screens you see in a video game, the animation was good mind you but almost too computerized.

The color scheme in this film was so beautiful, and it was like watching a water color painting come to life.

The story was simple and very well put together.

I really enjoyed all the characters, and loved all the music.

Jack Johnson did a wonderful job in capturing the carefree nature of the film.

Very beautifully done film, and I loved the credits.

The old Curios George story book photo's really made it worth seeing from beginning to end.

The Jack Johnson soundtrack makes this one of my favourite children's movies of all time - it's a sweet, engaging, colourful film that lulls energetic children into limiting their noises to gurgles and squeals of delight.

Yay, Mr. Ferrell does the voice for that guy who's always in yellow. Not a great movie for adults, really.

Definitely a kid's movie, not a family movie, but still loads of fun if you're willing to let your mind take you back to when you thought George was just as neat-o as...sea monkeys.

Not THIS one--the feature film. Sweet film about childhood's innocence if you can get past the cultural plunder & poaching plot devices. Lovely songs.

This isn't a movie you would want to see if it's just you, but if you need something that will work for you and the kid you're babysitting, it's a good choice. It has a bunch of funny jokes for all ages, and younger kids will love the plot. Only problem: this movie brings product placements to a new low.

Another fascinating adaptation from children books. This animated movie particularly appeals to me since it does not follow the 3-D trend as animations nowadays. Good plot. Great characters, and George is truly adorable.

A-boo... A-boo... I really loved this movie. Curious George was always one of my favourite books as a child, and I plan on sharing the story with my daughter.
Will Ferrell gets kudos for not showing his face on screen. (Sorry Will, not a fan...)

Why would they cast Will Ferrell in this as the Man With the Yellow Hat?

Do they hate me? I think they might.

As a young reader of C.G., it was unavoidably cute, nostalgic trip down memory lane complimented by the silky catchy vibes of Jack Johnson. Curiosity nearly kills the monkey often rescued by the man in the yellow hat who, in turn, faces dire repercussions for his wildlife enthusiasm.

It was a well animated movie but the story was lacking and the character development was bad. True Curious George fans (those who have read the stories) would be disappointed. It is, however, a good family film if that's what you're looking for.
