The Hong Kong comedy-drama film's 'gay' element is basically a red herring, used as comic relief for the most part, and while some of the material borders on crude stereotype, Daniel Wu himself plays the central character with great dignity, reaffirming his status as a gay icon. ...( read more)Ultimately, however, the movie is uneven and disappointing, though redeemed by its energetic cast. If Stephen Fung can resist playing to the gallery in future, he might yet prove himself a director of note, far beyond the loyalty of his devoted fan base.
It's still not perfect, like the ending (a fight scene) was cheesily, has in look fake, done.

If you manage to not throw a hissy fit over the "offensive" gay jokes prevalent in the film, it's actually an incredibly well rounded film. All flavours of humour spot the film, although it isn't without its more serious moments. The writing is very good, managing a great depth f...( read more)or the relationships between the characters as well as their own personal conflicts. The key actors pull their roles perfectly and the whole story flows entertainingly well, down to the last scene. A hilatious yaoi (gay) comedy, yakuza movie presented by Jackie Chan. Daniel Wu plays the gay son Georgie, of the First Brother yakuza Boss who was sent to boarding school as a child. However georgie's best friend pretended that he was Georgie and the real Georgie was his right hand man... Allowing this to be, they return home and things get outta hand... with hilarious and dramatic results.

Special appearance by Jackie Chan, Sammi Cheng and Nicholas Tse, I'm so surprise!

If you think this is a full action movie, then you're wrong. The action scenes are only at the end. Watch for the director's following House of Fury for better action scenes.

Anyway, it's a go...( read more)od attempt. A not too bad for an upcoming director.
