A man who has always joyously created his own music in his own way, Hicks celebrated his 60th birthday in 2001 with a special concert at San Francisco's Warfield Theater, in which he was joined by the surviving members of the Charlatans, as well as a gaggle of former Hot Licks members and longtime musical friends alongside his current group.
