The approach that this movie takes to the unlives of the undead is unique and engaging. The desire of a vampire to understand and experience the life of a human beyond the act of fulfilling his need for sustenance is explored simultaneously with the desire of a human to either live life to the fullest or leave the mortal coil. There is something far deeper to explore here than just the hunter/prey relationship. Which is the stronger desire for each of the main characters - Life or Death - and which will struggle hardest to reach their true aspiration.
This is a moving and haunting story.
