A wondeful adaptation of Roald Dahl's "Danny the Champion of the world. I actually had to buy this dvd from amazon UK, because it hasn't been released on DVD in the US at all. It came out in 1989. I got it for about $10, and it is one of the best dvd purchases I've made in awhile...( read more)

This is a charming tale, amongst the very best Dahl adaptations. It benefits immeasurably from the relaxed, secure relationship between real-life father and son. Incredibly touching and, at times, poignant. Irons Senior is, as usual, riveting to watch.
