this movie was good till the end.the end blew. I mean it had watching because I wanted to know what would happen next and then the end disappointed me. It's about a girl who desperately wants to have a baby and the stress is causing her to dream awful things.
Confusing in a David Lynch sort of way. Shame, as Thora Birch is pretty good and the mechanics of the movie are well done - it's just that it'll probably leave you with a "huh?" feeling at the end.
This was a strange thinking thriller that won't be for everybody. The story was differant and it was close to a b movie.
What I did like about it was the contrast between the two sides of it and the differences and similarities between them.
The ending wasn't the greatest but it did make sense.
This movie was CRAP!!! I expected more from Thora Birch after her outstanding perfomance in Ghost World and American Beauty. She played a "dual" role in what was supposed to be a "creepy" movie...The movie was soooo confusing you didn't have time to be creeped out...I'm glad I didn't pay for the rental!
strange film, thought about it for a while after trying to figure it out,but thought it best to leave it be.only reason i gave it 3 stars is cause i love thora birch.
A strange and warped tale, one that really gets you thinking, then twists it all around in the end. A great movie to watch if you're a fan of films like Donnie Darko
David Lynch meets Dead Again, meets Japanese horror flicks. Nothing original here if you've seen any of the above mentioned films, but I am a sucker for mind benders.
I am STILL trying to figure out what the heck happened in this film. Still have no clue, but I know it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. The issue of multiple personalities...or multiple dimensions...I'm still not sure which one this movie tackles. Maybe both, maybe none, who knows? I just know I'll never spend another 1 1/2 hours watching this film again.
this has got to be one of the worst movies that i have ever scene. aside from a couple of memorable scenes, i found myself staring at Thora's breasts. they're acting was better than Thora's, or anybody else's that was involved. sorry to be a nay-sayer, this just isn't my cup o' tea
I should have known better, it's straight to DVD horror after all.
I thought Thora Birch may have made this watchable, but she was rather dull in it, much like the rest of the movie which lacks any sort of atmosphere or scares.
I hate watching the "making of" segment on movies like this because no one involved seems to know that the movie is shite. "People are gonna LOVE this movie," says the executive producer, and my heart just goes out to him.
There was so much wrong with this one, I don't even know where to begin without a detailed synopsis - suffice to say, this is an hour and a half better spent doing anything else. Anything.
Strange but interesting movie that kinda reminded me of Jacob's Ladder. Thora Birch gives a wonderful duel performance as both a bright suburban housewife seeking to have her first child and as the dark gothic parallel version of herself living in a lonely and evil place existing to eachother only in eachother's nightmares and both being stalked by the same hulking madman. Hard to follow but a good effort on the director's part.
yah. I'm not to sure what to say about this one... it was kinda sucked. It was awful or anything like that, it just wasn't good. If it was free to watch it might be worth it but don't spend any money to watch it.
Note to director: dreams/nightmares aren't interesting to anyone but yourself. 'Dark Corners' is filled with so much faux-symbolism and phony subtext, it feels like the David Lynch Amateur Hour, as debut director Gower lifts ideas and symbols directly from the works of Lynch, from subtle to a mysterious plot-driving key. The nightmares are intended to invoke suspense, but are so full of themselves and lost in their "originality." We've never needed Freddy Krueger so badly...
