I started watching this last night and it felt very 80's...the grainyness, legging jeans, and Paredes (took me a while to recognize) and Maura are great,,,more to come
I really liked this. Maybe having grown up Catholic contributed to my enjoyment and understanding of some of the humor though. Another person watching with me didn't get it at all.
Nunsexdrogsrock I Love nuns films, they can be as camp as "The Sound of Music" or as horrid as "Alucarda", this film is a mix of them. Before growing old and being mature ("Talk to Her") Almodovar made films in wich scandal themes were always an ingredient often treated like if there were the most common and natural thing. And of course, my favourite part is when Yolanda Bell sings "Salí porque salí".
this would definitely be my favorite almodovar. it has the best concept! this movie has some really great themes and messages, (as does all his films). but this would be his strongest film (i think). i doubt anyone would be able to find anything more weird, twisted or unpredictable as this
