An offer of summoning the police firmly rejected, the two help the boy as best they can although it certainly means missing the ferry...and so starts this thriller: a tale of twisted sexual attraction and ulterior motives.

This movie makes no sense. After three or four viewings, I still experience a major "WTF?!" moment at the end. Somebody please explain it to me.

All actors played very well. A pity Rickman had to speak with an American accent, but he played the bored, frustrated, American husband extremely convincing. The end was a complete surprise. (Lucky Norman Reedus!) I feel that the story would have benefited from a more complex plo...( read more)t and that I would have liked more information about the true thoughts and feelings of the characters. But this would probably have spoiled the surprise ending. Still, I think more could have been done with this theme. Nevertheless it was a nice film and I will watch it over and over again just to see the splendid acting and tasteful camerawork.

Very good and unique movie. All 3 actors were great!
I advise people to watch it *at the very least* twice, 'cause only that way are we able to see all the little clues that exist throught the movie that lead to the ending, and it makes for a much more fascinating view of the movie.

This is definitely one of those movies you have to watch several times to understand the movie.

I bought this film because no one rents it anymore which is sad and disturbing because it's a good film with a few twists that keep the viewer thinking. An added note to all true ALAN RICKMAN fans: He's going to shock you for one brief moment.
