shit,i can pee this video..
A bunch of kids of indeterminate age take a cross country trip to, uh, New Orleans? Because they end up in Asbury Park, NJ. They WERE going to New Orleans, right? But they end up in Asbury Park because one finds a pamphlet in a restroom that trumpets the opening of the Dark Ride, a boardwalk attraction that shut down many years ago after twin sisters got killed. So of course the whole gang detours to this place and guess what? Most of them get killed too, by this hulking loony that's just escaped from a psychiatric hospital. And this particular hulking loony grew up inside this Dark Ride, being that he didn't look right so he was kept hidden. Maybe this is a "loving" tribute the the slasher films of the 80's, like The Funhouse & all those, but it's a dull tribute and falls pretty flat. The killer wears a little tiny face pulled off of a mannequin, which is sort of a nice touch but there's your Michael & Jason...although this thing is called Jonah. And it also seems like perhaps none of this "detour" was random either, it was planned out by someone & therein lies the twist of this, which by the point it's revealed you are so bored you won't care or you already saw it coming. I though I'd seen the worst of the "8 Films to Die For" already but now that I've proved I haven't I think I'll just stop before I waste any more time on them. "Abandoned" & "Reincarnation" are worth your time, but it sure seems like most of the rest are not. 3 out of 10.

This movie was a fun ride. The plot was basic and the movie very reminiscent of a typical 80s slasher flick. Not much originality here, but you get what you came to see for this kind of film. Some creative kills, horror movie cliches a plenty, and a twist ending that you can see coming a mile away, but is still good. The sets inside the horror amsusement ride were well done. The acting quality is passable for this type of movie. But none of the characters are particularly likeable, which makes it even more fun to see them get what they have coming. If you enjoy slasher flicks, check this one out.
How can you not love a scary movie that stars the fat kid from Sandlot and features a woman getting beheaded while giving a bj?
This movie is pretty good! It stole my idea of a killer using some type of a baby face mask... Fuck you very much... But it had some good gore and scares in it, not to mention how freaky the killer is. The way he moves and shit, the mask, all-around creepy... If you like Horror, this one's TO DIE FOR!!
a well thought out film..... the storyline was solid and the haunted house ride just made it even more appealing for horror fans! A must see if your a horror fan like myself!
I enjoyed this movie because the actors were good and the storyline kept you interested throughout the whole show.
I don't care what anybody else says; I had a fun time watching it and was one of the best of the 8 Films To Die For. Although it was somewhat of a ripoff of The Funhouse, it still had enough qualities to make it unique. A fun slasher that was a throwback to the 80s.
What a rip. This movie sucked like the others did! And you don't even get to see Jamie Lynn-Sigler nude! This movie was a waste of time.
One of the Better if not my favorite 8 Films to Die for series. But for some reason the plot seems familer as if someone else has done it, but I love Parks with rides so this one I enjoyed, so will you. A Buyer
Gotta get something off my chest. Just finished watching Dark Ride, which is easily the most nonsensical, boring, and convoluted waste of a "horror" film I've seen in years. I've had much of the same reaction to several of the After Dark series of films, as well as numerous episodes of the Masters of Horror series. I'm beginning to feel that both of these endeavors are largely meant to package awful quality material that wouldn't be able to stand on its own. Dark Ride is the nadir of the bunch thus far. The plot, acting, soundtrack and utterly continuity- and logic-free scenes are all rock-bottom for the genre and an insult to horror fans who are expected to be consumers of this crap. But there will probably be a third After Dark film festival and more lousy episodes of Masters of Horror. Why? Because we rent them. We buy them. We support them. As long as 'we', as horror fans, support this tripe with our dollars, whether through Netflix or at the box office, we will get what we have paid for. Unless we start to demand better, this is the tenor of material we will be stuck with. I don't want that and I'd wager you don't either.
Wow I'm pretty sure this has been done... college kids go on vacation and get killed. Something new already!
In my mind, the worst of the After Dark Horrorfest movies...a total paint-by-number horror flick with all the typical suspense, horrific murders, mindless teenagers, and shocking ending. Nothing really new, exciting, or innovative.
This movie is part of the 2006 Films to die for.
This movie was ok. But it's not one that I would own.
You pretty much know what is going to happen. It's pretty typical..
Good horror, suspense movie kept me on the edge of my seat i do have to say.Had a few laughs. Was pretty creepy.
A good beginning and cast of characters (especially Alex Solowitz) is hurt by a boring middle and lackluster twist.
Story was nothing new and a little slow to start, so I give it a three, with an extra half for the great gore scenes.
It's good to know that Patrick Renna (from The Sandlot and The Big Green) and Alex Solowitz (from MTV's movie/series 2gether) are still getting work. I'm not going to lie, I had to look up both of their names on IMDB.
i saw this at the horrorfest. it was better than most. storyline was ok but it was assumed was was going to happen.
well, the idea is kind the best...but the story is not that good...worth seeing cause i love dark ride...

Few gory scenes but the story was stupid, annoying characters, bad dialog & the acting wasn't that good.
DISAPPOINTED IN THIS. IT WAS A BORING ATTEMPT AT GORE & HORROR. ACTING IS TERRIBLE, DID GET A FEW LAUGHS OUT OF IT, BUT WAS THE WORST OF THE "8 TO DIE FOR" MOVIES.
