A cool, quirky, dark, intense, timely and well-set movie. It expands on the Space Odyssey atmosphere in a pre-Star-Wars world. It's not bad at all, but set within small confines, so not very expansive.

Cheap and rather slapdash debut by John Carpenter. It reeks of post modern humour in the vein of Douglas Adams, and there are some very funny moments, but it's also dull and amateurish for extended periods. Great ending though.

I love this film, it has a very natural humour to it and the cheap effects give it a unique style of its own, the phenomenology dialogue and resulting explosion sums it up

I watched this as a kid. And if memory serves me right I liked it then. Good 80's classic.
