I just got the chance to see this movie recently and I thought it was great! I would actually love to see it again sometime. Dark comedy and lots of gore make a great combination!
There's a kick ass country/rap/comedy band that plays throughout the movie, I don't remember the name of the band anymore. But the they're good. And Jeremy Sisto is good in everything he touches so far.
Ok Yes its a Zombie Movie. Yes its a B grade Zombie movie. But oh Shoot Son !!!! LOL ROFL.
Just to give you an Idea. I dont think this is spoiler but be aware of next little bit.....
Held up in a house windows and doors nailed shut. As you are defending the house your gf bannters about you cheating on her. Meanwhile 3 Zombie hicks outside are playing instruments and singing "Blood is a sweet as moonshine whisky...were so alive when we kill kill kill. Were comin ta kill ya were comin to kill ya." As the rest of the Zombies do a thriller dance. Claps, foots slides N All.
LOL if you like cheese. If you Like B's If you like Zombie flix. This is one for you.
The tag line for the movie itself says it all.. "Dead & Breakfast, It's like a bad horror movie... Only worse. "
A zombie musical with David Carradine as the owner of the B&B. Can't beat that. Some of the musical numbers are pretty funny if you listen to the lyrics.
Only two good parts to this movie for me. 1 being Diedrich Bader's short lived part .... 2 the guy using the severed head for a puppet .... other than that pretty lackluster
A sort of comedy/horror, there are music cut scenes every so often that are so damn creative and funny, the movie was also equipped with some good gore, Good flick
this film was given the title of best independent movie of the year....I would have to disagree considering that yes it was a low budget film but it had some good actors in it that really didn't do a good job.
The film is just slow and not worth the time...they claim this to be the US "Shaun of the dead" yeah right.
In Dead & Breakfast a evil curse is released and the town quickly becomes zombies. All of the police are turned so it is up to a few travelers to save themselves and the only townie from zombie death.
This movie was very cheesy! It is a horror/comedy so don't expect too much serious gore here. A few scenes are good, but not many.
The best part about the movie is that the bar band got turned to zombies. Occasionally the camera will cut to them singing a narration about the movie. It was pretty funny. They definitely stole the show.
Dear Jeremy Sisto & Portia de Rossi, I really wish you weren't in this movie. It wasn't even enjoyably bad. It was just bad. What was up with the dancing zombies? You guys should've pulled together to have that hip hop/country singing narrator fired. He was the most awkward narrator in b-horror history. (And I say that having seen Death Bed.) I forgive you this time, but next time I might not be so forgiving. Make good choices. Love, Jenn
*warning* Don't EVER watch this movie!!!! I feel like 10 years has just been sucked out of my sanity! Story- Awful Acting- Terrible. Lines- even worse. The narrarator was a hillbilly with a guitar that gave a go at rapping, for goodness sakes!!! I need to go and do penance now...
Not greatest horror/comedy ever made and a bit too bizarre for its good but despite all that I still quite enjoyed it. The cast do an okay job, the gore was great, it's never boring and it has its funny moments. It won't be for everyone but it is good fun.
It had its guresome scenes and horror parts, but I liked how they added comedy in between the plot. It lightened the mood of the story and made it less scary. Makes a good crossover between horror and comdey.
Not really that good, but a few steps up from most independant horror. For one, the musical narration is very entertaining, and I do think there was some talent and imagination behind the camera. I look forward to what these guys do in the future.
um.. yeah.. WTF?!?! I was laughing the whole way through.. and the music is just so bad and yet so good at the same time.. The zombie ho-down was a bit over the top though.. Had good moments, it had bad moments.. and then it had the "what the hell were they smoking" moments.. but it was definately funny.
Came out right around the time as "Shaun of the Dead", has the same funny take on a zombie movie only with more american humor. Really worth the time of watching, if you can still find a copy.
This gets off to a very rocky start. Points for the first killin, but to be honest much of it is so unoriginal as to be tedious. The splatter is amusingly excessive, but it's nothing you haven't seen before. After an hour, you're almost asleep -- and then it suddenly gets good. Really good. That one sequence, about an hour two minutes in, justifies the film's existence. In fact, if you watch the chapter entitled 'Dancing Dead', then skip to the end credits, where an amusing song plays summarizing the film's action, you can save yourself about 80 minutes and still experience the best moments.
not as good as the shaun of the dead but still a great horror/comedy lots of blood and gore and lots of funny stuff about this movie.
the cast is good they did a good job for the movie david carradine i loved seeing him in this movie he was great.
the story: a group spend the night at a local sleeping place and then everything then turns to hell.
overall a great movie i loved all the blood and gore and the laughs were funny and the acting was smart a great low budget movie wished there were more of these movies.
Officially one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Horror buffs will get a tremendous kick out of this crude comedy with a serious streak of black humour. No doubt many will find it senseless, but if you think a horrendously bloody decapitation set to Bernie Molsinger and Ric Mandell's "Don't Go Losing Your Head" is funny, you'll love his entire movie.
Why bother with this zombie comedy with annoying stupid songs & cheesy effects that isn't near as good as others in the genre instead watch Dead Alive or Shaun of the dead.
