It won't be on anybody's 10-best list at the end of the year. But it's agreeable and engaging and real enough in the right smallish ways, and it has an emotional maturity at odds with the high-grade plastic from which it's constructed. That being said, it's all been done before, ...( read more)

A sweet romantic comedy/drama which is well written and well acted. Ryan Reynolds fits his part perfectly and the female leads are strong and enjoyable. Abigail Breslin is adorable, smart and witty as usual. An enjoyable film....

"Dad, I can't believe you smoked... and drank... and were such a slut... But I still love you."
A surprise hit in 2008, Definitely, Maybe is a sweet and charming film about a recently divorced father (Ryan Reynolds) who tells his daughter (Abigal Breslin) the story...( read more) -

Wow, not at all what I expected. Ryan Reynolds seem to be starring a lot of good movies, and his acting in this movie might have only made it better. Abigail Breslin, once again, amazes me. Such a young girl doing such a magniscifent job. She's stunning. Of course I think that ev...( read more)

What a wonderful way for a movie to discuss relationships. The father-daughter thread is delightful and the movie is great for a variety of audiences. Lighthearted yet tearjerking (at times) this movie is great!

Definitely, Maybe, written and directed by Adam Brooks, is a nimble and winning little romance.
A romantic comedy with brains as well as heart, Definitely, Maybe is that rare studio release that feels like it was written by a human being, not by committee. full review
To sum up, Definitely, Maybe is crap with compensations. full review
There's really nothing terribly wrong with Definitely, Maybe, but there's nothing strikingly right about it, either; it's as good as it needs to be, and no more. It'll do in a Valentine's Day pinch, u... full review
It could use some editing toward the conclusion, but it's generally enjoyable, amusing and more sophisticated than most films in this genre. full review
Definitely, Maybe proves that there are still innovative ways to tell the oldest story of all, the one about two people falling in love. full review
All the performances are fine, yet they're fine mainly because there's almost nothing in the script to severely botch, so safe, rote, and mildly soporific are the proceedings. full review
As the movie is about a character's growing into his own truth rather than discovering some preordained truth, Definitely, Maybe is hard to outguess. For once in a romantic comedy you won't be able to... full review
