Rodriguez's sequel starring the deadly Mariachi played in this one by Antonio Banderas and his lovely female companion played by the sexy latina Salema Hayek
pretty good, and fun. buscemi is great. does anyone know what this film was shot on (camera/type of film etc) it just looked a little different to normal
In the El Mariachi update we see Antonio take the reign as the best gunslinger in Mexico, highly stylized John Woo would be proud of the camera work here-also look for a cameo by the director's friend-Quentin Tarantino.
A fun second parter to EL MARIACHI. Unlike most sequels, you don't need to watch the first film to enjoy this one. It's just another entertaining film that'll burn some time. Enjoy!
Highly recommended.
Plot Outline: A gunslinger is embroiled in a war with a local drug runner.
i dont even like action movies, but this one is different, i dunno how that desperado guy can be so cool like that:) But i also hate the Once Upon a time in mexico movie..
"want to see it" may be a wee bit of an exaggeration. Banderas . . . . . . . . . . . . . But Sabina says it's a must see, and Depp was great in the Once upon a Time in Mexico sequel.
If you haven't seen this, go rent it, now! Because it's cool, and funny, and packed with action, and one of the few remakes i actually agree was worth doing(to tell the truth, it's not exactly a remake, it's more like a sequel, and btw, while you're at it, if you like this check out "El Mariachi" too). Because it has in it one of the hottest couples ever seen on screen. Because i still laugh at that joke Tarantino tells, even though i've heard it a million times. Because in its day it was groundbreaking and because it still makes for an entertaining couple of hours. Eh, i guess i'm becoming sentimental in my old age, haha.
Awesome Stuff! Banderas is terrific in this ultraviloent guns a blazing extravaganza! and Salma Hayek looks better than ever. Rodriguez gives us one of the best action movies of 1995!
Fantastically stylish explosion of guns and gangsters, scupted with superb direction an cinematography. Banderas adds nothing to his role, but fortunately his strong repressed character doesn't need him to, and the quirky supportive cast, including Tarantno and Buschemi liven up the non-gunfight moments with charm and wit.
An incredibly bloody precursor to Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Desperado is an attempt to break into the main populous of movie-goers. While some of the intense action scenes (to me) are to be noted, the film as a whole holds no weight.
This film means adds up to nothing in the end but the mish mash is brilliant. Some very memorable moments and great action sequences. A very overlooked film.
Over-rated. Sure it has some funny moments, and it is tarantino stylish again and rodriuez knows how to do guns but somehow it lacks something. Possible because i've never seen antonio banderas as being anything like a leading man.
