Great sequel.Antonio Banderas is good and Salma Hayek is HOT.Very very hot!!!
I cant explain why but I liked better the first one though.I found Carlos Gallardo more fitting in the role of "El Mariachi".

OK, I totaly understand that anyone who's seen this movie might wonder how I can give it 4 stars out of 5. It is a dumbass unrealistic actionpiece in classical B-movie style... BUT, it is so exceptionally exaggerated that it becomes funny. There are just so many cool scenes and so many cool portraits of tough bad-ass gangsters that you can't help but be amused. And it IS high-class entertainment. This movie has got no self-criticism whatsoever, and that makes it even more funny. A must see!

Really excellent film. Although I think I should have watched El Mariachi first. So far i've seen the three films in reverse order. Doesn't bother me though, I still think that they are all great. Antonio Banderas was made for this role.

Spanish star Antonio Banderas fronts this double fisted, furiously paced Latino gun opera from virtuoso director Roberto Rodriguez
Part homage to the Western, part parody and wholly entertaining throughout, this is a furiously fast and funny piece of lead-filled, Latino action. Visuals, gags and Rodriguez's own skewed take on the Mariachi myth are carefully balanced and highly inventive.

Balls to the wall action awesomeness. Humor, cool gun flicking manouvers and knife throwing maniacs make this a heap of fun to be had. Fantastic, spicy storyline and memorable moments like Quinten Tarantino's bar joke.

Justins Best Bit: Knowing exactl what Antonio Banderas was thinking when that explosion went off behind him. "I am so cool right now i shit aviator sunglasses".

Rodriguez's second movie, Mexican-set but English-speaking, is a modern day Western shot in the style of an extended trailer or an advert for Levi's or Guinness. Sexy, stylised and ultraviolent, it is also (intentionally?) badly-acted, the gun fetish grows wearisome and the over-the-top ending is almost like a spoof of what has gone before. Highly distinctive, but morally and emotionally empty, the result feels like a bad film made on purpose by someone with the talent to make a good one. I liked it.

This film being the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's previous film, 'El Mariachi' and considering it as his second feature, it's not that bad and is actually quite entertaining. It's about El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas), a guitar player who carries a guitar case full of weapons to get revenge on the drug lord responsible for the murder of the woman he loved.

The plot as you can tell sounds crap but even with a shitty plot, Rodriguez somehow keeps us entertained for the whole 100 minutes. He does this with his stylish and interesting direction. Also, with the use of all the fun characters, dialogue and amazing action sequences it makes you forget that the plot is even required and makes it very fun to watch.

Overall, I enjoyed this and in my opinion is the best out of the El Mariachi trilogy.

In this follow-up to the 1992 original, the Mariachi plunges headfirst into the dark border underworld when he follows a trail of blood to the last of the infamous Mexican druglords, Bucho, for an action-packed, bullet-riddled showdown. With the help...

This was crappy. The perfect hero who could not be hurt enough to be stopped. I just don't buy that 5 men shooting at someone not moving that fast could all miss, and then be killed. Its just dumb. Not to mention way too typical, and boring.

Entertaining, but it looks like Rodriguez was watching one too many John Woo movies when he came up with this one.

My personal favorite of Rodriguez. Has very cool dialogue, and brought back the style of the spaghetti westerns.

It's a fun movie. Has it's quirky moments and violent, comic book like moments as well. I have always liked Antonio Bandaras as an actor since I first saw him in a film done in Spain...he is a good actor and has a lot of screen presence. Salma Hayek is fun to watch in this film as well. Not the greatest film ever made but fun.

Some really amazing and graceful action takes place in this film. I was enjoying every second of it. However the non-action bits were a bit boring and sometimes even dragged on a little.
I really liked the beginning built up of a film. That was pretty well done. Also this film has some really good music.
Antonio Banderas was cool as usual.
Overall a pretty good action flick about revenge, but perhaps in some places can be a little better.

excellent movie! love the artistry, the action, and the thrill it creates. its also educational, because it teaches us that in a community enrobed with fear and violence, there will always be this one person, who'll save the day.

This, and his other 2 films in the El Mariachi trilogy, are the only films Robert Rodriguez should have been allowed to release.
