MCT:September 28, 2008After being captured, imprisoned and tortured in North Korea for 14 months, Bond (Pierce Brosnon) is released in exchange for a recently captured Zao? MCT:September 22, 2008Awful theme music, alright film, although very very formulaic, especially now since Casino Royale kicks it all over Korea (or wherever its set). Mr evil deformed henchman is so cliched, just call him Dr Diamond Acne and be done with it.

MCT:September 7, 2008Not the best bond film, which was sad seeing it was Brosnan's last, who is in my opinion the second best bond ever after Connery, perhaps Roger Moore is more diserving of the runner up title, but i like Brosnan. Enjoyable, stuck to bond film tradition, but for me that was the problem. It stuck to Bond tradition a bit too ridgedly making it seem a bit lack luster, a bit too reliant on the big name stars and the big budget effects and lacked too much substance. Definatly not one of the stand out bond movies although i wouldent go as far to say it was the worst, not that any wore one comes to mind but there are a few i wouldent say were exactly better.

Starts out good, then turns into BLAAHHHH. I think the turning point is the entrance of Halle Berry's character. The whole "female agent is badass too and competes with Bond" thing might be entertaining if we hadn't seen the exact same dynamic twice over the last four films (Tomorrow Never Dies and Licence to Kill).

Avec Die Another Day, j'ai appris...
Hollywood. Toutes ces conneries héroïques qui vous minent un film à retardement, tout cette humanité qui déserte l'homme et qui font de lui un robot infaillible, un aimant à femmes qui esquive les pièges les plus perspicaces et les détentes les plus rapides. Toutes ces scènes d'action potables qui sont rapidement ridiculisées par le peu de réalisme qu'elles contiennent, tout l'extrême de la chose qui veuille que spectaculaire rime obligatoirement avec inhumanité. Sous un ramassis de cochonneries et d'effets spéciaux se dissimule un scénario potable, rapidement gâché par des palais de glace informatisés et des automobiles invisibles.
Avec Die Another Day, j'ai appris...
La redondance. Qu'il parait bien de vouloir faire hommage au 40e anniversaire de James Bond en ressassant maints souvenirs brisés, mais qu'au bout du compte, tout se transforme rapidement en un amoncellement de clichés nostalgiques qui nous font regretter les James Bond du bon vieux temps. L'originalité se dégrade peu à peu, et chaque scène se veut un post-it du bon vieux temps fortement défraîchi, un remake manqué qui nous fait pleurer le brio de Ian Fleming.
Avec Die Another Day, j'ai appris...
Que même l'image des plus grands personnages est facilement souillable. -

not my favorite pierce brosnan bond film. but awesome technology!!! i loved how there were many ecentricities to the movie. like the invisible car, the fencing, and the ice hotel

As sexy as Halle Berry may be, her acting abilities (or lack thereof) drags the film down to a halt, marking this the worst Bond movie since Timothy Dalton's disastrous outings in the late 80s.

In the aftermath of Halle Berry's Oscar win for "Monster's Ball", it seems as if the makers of "Die Another Day" were trying to make this a "Bond & Halle" film, rather than a "Bond film, with Halle". Also, this film manages to just about match the gross, decadent excess of "Moonraker", so it's just as well that the series reinvention came along with the very next film, "Casino Royale". After a film like "Die Another Day", there was no place to go but back down to Earth, and damned if that didn't turn out to be a much better place to be.

The storyline was good enough,and the James Bond was attractive.Pierce Brosnan was match with his character.and because of this movie,i'm interest to watch the other James Bond. -

after making my bond collection 3 gave this another viewing. was ok but not one of the best bond movies, ever..the scene where bond is on surf boards riding the waves, looks so moody. i think we can see why brosnan wanted out after this one..
