I've seen this movie twice now over the years and It has an excellent storyline but the acting is TERRIBLE! lol so are the graphics... but whatev its a good way to occupy your time...
cute lil story about dinosaurs and humans living together, blah blah, great fantasy show for kids and adults of all ages esp. if you like/love fantasy movies Wentworth miller was a lil bit younger in this epic 2 parter and seemed not to experienced in the beginning, but later came to portray his character better as the movie progressed. a definite must see and buy.
A pair of teenaged half brothers, Karl Scott (Tyrone Leitso) and David Scott (Wentworth Miller) took over the controls of their father Frank's (Stuart Wilson) private plane while searching for their missing dad in Waterfall City, the capitol of Dinotopia,.
Surprisingly entertaining for adults and children alike. It *does* get tedious and slow (watch it over an extended period due to the length), but overall a good family film - especially for the dinosaur loving child.
3 plus hours of the coolest talking dinosoars , lost continent, sun stones and of course the guy from "Prison Break" televison series Wentworth Miller, Whew !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where was he when I was young ???? How could I not love this flick, It rocks !!!!!!!!
This TV mini-series may not be the most action-packed show of all time, but it is certainly interesting and does what most kids want - put humans together with dinosaurs in a non-Jurassic Park setting where they're monsters to be feared. The show also featured a younger Wentworth Miller before his Prison Break adventure.
I never realized it was Wentworth Miller from Prison Break who starred in this. Since I rememberd thinking the acting was bad by the 2 main stars.
Watching it recently I still think he was bad in it, although yes he's fantastic in Prison Break. He must've had better acting lessons since lol. It's still not a bad mini-series though, hell it's one of the best. Mostly due to the fact that it looks good and it's original even if it is overlly long. It's was nice being able to watch something like that this at home. Not too many mini-series are even made these days and it's a shame since most of them like The Stand, Merlin and Stephen King's IT were fantastic.
Another great movie. Kinda a kids movie, even I'll admit that, but the effects on the dinosaurs and such was great. Went Miller did a good job in this, but his acting has.. definately improved.
A really Really great movie. Really cute. I think Wentworth did a good job in this, but his acting his DEFFO improved. I still love him though. There was a lot of conversing scenes, one thing I like in movies, as well as action scenes, so it all played out to make a great movie overall.
Apart from BBC's Lost World, I don't think I've seen a better miniseries than this! Tyron Leitso and Wentworth Miller star as half brothers who are forever stranded on a secret island after their plane is caught in a storm. Upset that their father disappeared along with the plane, the brothers Karl and David start learning about the island they've landed on. Guided by David Thewlis and Katie Carr, they discover that the island is a secret paradise where dinosaurs have survived extinction and live peacefully alongside humans. But the serenity of Dinotopia is about to be broken - the magical Sunstones, powerful gems that repel Dinotopia's more vicious residents, are failing, allowing packs of T rexes and flocks of voracious Pteranodons to wreak havoc beyond their usual territories. With the help of their new friends, including Zippeau the stenonychosaur (voiced by Lee Evans), Karl & David have to escape the jaws of vicious mosasaurs, ride giant pterosaurs and ride down sewers (that are more like giant log flumes lol) to reach the forbidden cave known as the World Beneath to find new, stronger spellstones and rescue Dinotopia from utter ruin! A great, long miniseries boasting some incredible dinosaur CGI effects!
Way to long, 4 hours only shows that the actors ability to act still lacks some skill...
Though I love the book Dinotopia on which this movie based on!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND I WISH SOMEONE WOULD BUY IT FOR ME!!!!!!! I have seen it twice and loved every second of its 4 hour awesomeness. It is BEAUTIFUL!

I´ve always loved David Thewlis and he is doing a good role in this movie. it´s not the best movie ever but I think that it´s a great family-movie. I watched it with my kids and my husband and we all thought it was good.
