This film could have been so much better if they had ditched the documentary style at the beginning and the end of the film.
Wow! When you find yourself rooting for an unlikable character, you know the movie is good. Special effects don't get in the way of the smart storytelling. And I like the fact that the movie, even though dealing with apartheid and segregation, doesn't shove the moral into your mouth
Great movie. Best I've seen in a long time. Intriguing story, very engrossing. Go see it.

Fantastic movie, sad, action packed and best sci fi movie to date
I saw this with my boyfriend at the time. First date lol. But seeing as I chose the movie, it was fine. It turned out it sucked until right near the end. About the last 20 minutes were good.

this movie was very interesting. the camera work was great. i like the way it was filmed. the mockumentary style was very cool. the aliens were well done. the other people was well done.

awesome, builds up with style, intensity, and ease - ending with a quality action sequence.
District 9 makes an odd start but it does fall back on track after its first hour. It is not the originality but the stunning way with which the team has treated the last forty minutes of the film has made all the difference.

I still think this movie shows the saddistic nature of the White westerns than it shows anyother thing about the under-developed third world citizens.
Aliens come to Earth, blah blah. Totally plays against genre by not going all science fiction special effects, but instead using aliens to look at the uglier side of humanity. Fantastic film.
