Divorce American Style
In Divorce American Style, Richard Harmon (Dick Van Dyke) and his long-time wife Barbara (Debbie Reynolds) decide to divorce, with friends Nelson (Jason Robards) and Nancy (Jean Simmons) attempting to make the best of the situation. The original screenplay by Robert Kaufman and Norman Lear received an Oscar nomination in 1967. The film is one of the more entertaining and underrated comedies of the 1960s and is a biting social commentary on the state of relationships and marriage.
