This movie is so funny! It's too irreverent to ever really be offensive, but Matt Damon is awesome in this.

I liked this. A great story and although it wasn't very smooth in the telling it had some great ideas and played out nicely for my sense of humour.
    Good stuff.

Love it - it's hilarious! 'Consequences, schmonsequences!' The cinematics weren't that fab but the story had a great twist and I love the dialogue. Alan Rickman was awesome, his skills are supreme.

Hilariously crazy. The presense of best friend Matt actually makes Ben a decent actor and pretty much everything about this great mess of jokes and faith is somewhat brilliant. I had a great time.

Absolute laugh riot. It also makes you think about some popular misconceptions regarding orthodox religion. I loved it!

When I finally happened to see this film on TV, I didn't see it as particularly blasphemous at all (and I'm a Christian). Sure, the movie takes plenty of shots at organized religion and man-made institutions, but it seems to treat the concepts of God and faith with a surprising and welcome degree of reverence, and the message you're left with is decidedly pro-spiritual.

Behind the crudeness, rudeness, and general lewdness lies some solid humour, excellent acting, and some undeniable truths.

I love this Movie. I have seen it several times and always break outta laughs. I like Kevin Smith Character in this Movie. The only line in this Movies he had were I guess the one in the Train and at the End of the Movie.
The Quotes are just DIE HARD BARREL OF LAUGHS. I enjoyed the Movie, and I could watch over and over. The Big Mouth Chris Rock was the Man who made my side Hurt in this Movie. Many religious Folks were offended by this Movie I heard, but hey if you are offended by a Movie then DONT WATCH IT!

Every and each character were just great.

    Scottman said
im not religious, so dident get it all, but as a film, its certainly entertaining,

    Same here Scotty!

If you have nt seen this Movie. Shame on you!! LOL

Here some Nasty and Funny Quotes

Jay: Yo man, tell me something about me.
Rufus: You masturbate more than anyone on the planet.
Jay: Aw fuck, everyone knows that. Tell me something nobody knows.
Rufus: When you do it, you're thinking about guys.
[a shocked Silent Bob stares at Jay]
Jay: Dude, not all the time.

Jay: So what's up? You got a friend for Silent Bob, or are you just gonna do us both? If so, I'm first. I hate sloppy seconds.

Bethany: You're a man of principle.

Metatron: Tell a person that you're the Metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something out of a Charlton Heston movie and suddenly everybody is a theology scholar.

    Bethany: You knew Jesus?

Rufus: Knew him? Shit... Nigga owes me twelve bucks.

with a name like dogma to me this sounds more like a brilliant action movie. not a light hearted comedy which is insanely funny and quite likeable. good movie.

Adorable movie. Damon & Affleck's relationship is great, Hayek is amazing as usual, Rickman is much better than in Harry Potter. In all, a very funny movie and I loved it.

"Faith is a funny thing" ^^

Kevin Smith gets Alan Rickman, before Harry Potter fame, and some of his buddies in Jersey, to take part in a riff on Catholic dogma. This is actually a very good comeedy. It's one of Smith's best. The whole late 20s aged slacker motif is done to the hilt, and a younger Chris Rock is a crack up.

An abortion clinic worker with a special heritage is called upon to save the existence of humanity from being negated by two renegade angels trying to exploit a loophole and re-enter Heaven.

Kick-ass ensemble cast, led by before-they-were-famous brilliance of Damon and Affleck, and of course, a genius turn by my beloved Alan Rickman. One of the most quotable movies for my generation, and I can even handle the lamer scenes (like the sh*t monster). Kevin Smith does it again. :)

if it wouldn't be caught in all that silly re-inventation of god and the rest, this would be a rather funny movie....matt damon and ben affleck ruin it for me....thank god for the rest of the crew....this movie has a good intention to it tough

It is a classic good versus evil movie with a few new twists in the plot. Wonderfully done. It was brilliant film work amd the script was written very well

A great religious satire. Kevin Smith hits a home run with this one and it puzzles me why so many religious groups had a problem with it, they obviously didn't watch the movie otherwise they would know its not to be taken seriously. Theres a giant rubber poop monster in there for god sakes!

Dogma is probably one of the most interesting movies I've ever seen. Each characters role is played very well (who knew Ben Affleck could act?!), and the story is highly original. The movie is mostly dialogue, but it's well written and necessary to carry on the story. It's a really weird movie with a lot of profanity, but it has a message, and the message is good. Highly recommended.

my favorite kevin smith film. satire on religion, specifically the catholic religion. i laughed my butt off...."only a catholic [bishop] would bless his [golf] clubs to play a better game."

Being an ex-Catholic, I like how the director questions
the whole idea of what we know about faith.

What could have been... This surely resonates more among anyone who has had to swallow the chili with shit burrito that is Catholicism, but this film, while has its moments and good ideas, falls apart due to its puerility and bad direction... And Linda Fiorentino is pretty bad here.

Hilarious movie. Kevin Smith shows his gift for directing and writing the script which is a great parody. I hardly ever put my own beliefs in front of me when watching a movie, so watch this without believing it will insult you. It is fun. George Carlin rules.
