Obvious homage to the spaghetti western and of course Mr Leone's work with Mr Eastwood but this made for TV film is really quite absurd and daft. Using Estevez for his 'Young Guns' fame was a neat move as he looks good as someone you wouldn't think of as a butch… More
Obvious homage to the spaghetti western and of course Mr Leone's work with Mr Eastwood but this made for TV film is really quite absurd and daft. Using Estevez for his 'Young Guns' fame was a neat move as he looks good as someone you wouldn't think of as a butch heroic sharp shooter but that's where it ends. For some reason Quintano decided to go over the top with his shooting scenes and blend the classic gunman approach with slow motion and ridiculous stunts much in the vein as John Woo. What you get is a reasonable western at times with sequences of hilariously bad and impossibly stupid stunts which show Estevez's character to be an invincible flying ninja who has eyes in his arse as he doesn't even have to look where he shooting. Its all a bit hokey, looks cheap and has Howie Long as a bad guy, nuff said.
