This movie is hard to describe, I thought it was going to be sort of like a horror film, but that was such a wrong way to think. Althouhgt it has a few scary parts, its like a weird dark comedy. I had to really think about it to get the plot, its confusing, but if you watch it a few times it makes sense...sorta. Great movie.

I really liked it. Kinda psychological and makes you think. It is sad but keeps you laughing along the way.

Why is this film, the film of the 00s?
I personally fucking loved the 90s in films but when i saw Darko sometime in early 03, it blew my brains out (not literally) but the story is one of the most simple stories but complex on what really went down.
The dialodge is fucking brilliant, it at times makes you think about yourself, well at least me because many things Donnie says I agree, and sometimes laugh out loud funny... What's a fuck ass?
Jake Gyllenhaal gives a performance of a life time as Donnie Darko, who all high school disturbed kids can relate, i know i do a lot.
Everybody gives a top notch performance, Drew Barrymoore is criminally underrated in this film, come on, woh would shout FUCK! really loud after getting sacked?
The music is fucking brilliant, The Killing Moon, Under The Milky Way,Heads Over Heels, Mad World cover and the amazing score and last but not least my alltime favourite song LOVE WILL TEAR US APART by Joy Division.
In my opinion, film of the 00s, my fav film

I loved this movie, it makes you think of life in a total new perspective. It makes you want to see it over and over again! And as you see it twice you'll understand more of the meaning of the movie. It's a true work of art.

Honestly I love this movie more then any other, even the soundtrack opened me up to a new genre I've never even considered before... Echo and the Bunnymen and Joy Division are both before my time (grunge)

The movie is full of enough fact and fiction to keep you both with it and wondering... which makes it brilliant.

Well seeing as how Jake Gyllanhall has ruined his career with the faggoty Bareback Mountain, this is the movie that people will look back and say what potential he had when he is sleeping on some dudes couch and struggling to get a shift at maccas. It was his first noticable movie, and a bizzare one at that, give it a watch. Its strange.

Justins Best Bit: Demonic rabbits are scary.

Not 100% sure why people are so confused by it. All it takes is imagination.

You're not supposed to understand the movie. You're supposed to take it whichever way you interrupt it to be. The writer intended the story to be just that. The movie was absolutely phenomenal. The best stuff is dark, twisted, and a touch of humor thrown in. Donnie Darko definitely provided all of these elements. Therefore in my opinion, earns one of the all time greatest films title.

The beauty of "Donnie Darko", is that if you are one of the few in this world to be blessed with a) a sense of humour and b) a sense of imagination, you will watch this film for the first time and then go...errr...I need to watch it again! Amazing cast( and yes even Patrick swayze!..never thought I'd say that!!) I love all films from blockbuster to indie flick and this is one that will stay with me forever.
