Interesting film about some teenagers who meet at a diner hangout each day to talk about the latest going-ons in their L.A. lives. A young DiCaprio and Maguire co-star. A good movie.

It's not as bad as people say it is! Although the quality of the image isn't so good - and it's not even because it's black and white! - but it's nice to watch a whole movie about people interacting with each other.

This film spoke to me, and it contains what is possibly Leonardo DiCaprio's best performance to date. That in itself is insanely high praise. The budget drags it down, but the concept is very interesting. Coarse, uncompromising character piece filled with quirks and moody undertones. Basically, we watch a group of miserable young adults discuss everything ranging from sex to suicide - they fight, they gripe, they laugh and they talk to themselves into a grimy bathroom mirror. It's about the triviality and meaningless complexity of a night out between wealthy American friends. I'm very happy that I finally saw it.

A terribly directed film, but it accomplishes something few other movies ever have: honesty. This is an accurate portrayal of insecure young adults, not a fuzzy or distorted image intended to draw in the dollars. Don's Plum is, in my opinion, a far more intense film than say The Breakfast Club because there is no pro-teen bias. It's objective, sometimes brutal, but always faithful to the truth.
