A unit of crack marines are sent to investigate a security breach on a Martian research base to find it infested with bloodthirsty monsters. The original Doom game was a straight shoot-em up and it evolved over the years into atmospheric survival horror; the film falling somewher...( read more)

A fun, if very ordinary "marines off to exterminate things" movie. If you enjoy manly characters, big guns and action then you'll find plenty in Doom. It should also be commended for avoiding CGI and giving us some pretty cool looking monsters. Each of the cast have a 2D characte...( read more)

OK, we are all hearing how Doom the movie is a complete sellout etc, but still this is an enjoyable movie. The Rock as Sarge is absolutely perfect! i just couldn't imagine Karl Urban doing a better job then The Rock when it comes to Sarge. Although many have branded this film "Re...( read more)

It's an awsome and explosive action-packed thrill-ride. The best action/horror film since Resident Evil. The Rock gives a dominate and intiminating action hero presence. Karl Urban is teriffic. The Rock and Karl Urban are perfectly cast. It will thrill and chill you. An edge of y...( read more)

Decent for an action flic. The scene where Reaper takes first person perspective is utterly ridiculous. The Rock does what he does best - act like Steven Segal and get his ass kicked.

Critic Reviews
Too often Doom is mindless entertainment minus the entertainment. full review
The predictably heavy metal-scored film's primary directive is to recreate the mindless mayhem of its joystick-controlled roots. full review

July 9, 2008I used to play the game, back in the day and they translated the game into a pretty good movie. It had some pretty cool technology, which now, some is reality.
Take care all,
William

November 16, 2007It's a bastardization of the great video-game of the same name! I think this movie must have been made by n00bs, for n00bs.
If you really want Doom, just play the game itself and avoid this movie, as the game is MUCH more entertaining anyway. -

October 27, 2006Hellsdady, get a clue you n00b. I've been playing Doom longer than you've known how to walk, and this “movie” didn't stick to ANY story line, except for the UAC's involvement and being on Mars. Doom is about DEMONS AND HELL - this CRAP MOVIE was about adding a 25th chromosome to our genome, which, btw, is so ludicrous even a GOOD movie couldn't have pulled it off.
And the first person thing they did... WTF... Seriously... If I wanted to watch someone play Doom (which I wouldn't anyway), I'd sit at home with my roommate.
Also, learn to grammar, plz.
