The highest buildings they find are the "KBC" building, and decide to hire an investor to bid for it. They find an investor, who is later kidnapped by the owner of the building, Kabir. When Kabir finds out that the four friends are coming to rescue the investor, he decides to get his two girlfriends, Kiya and Kamini to play the 'love game' with Adi and Roy. The four really fall in love, and create an enemy in Kabir. The two couples, and the two disabled friends, all six together decide to get back on Kabir in the most hilarious and mayhem-ic ways they can think of. Critic Reviews
-
Rachel Saltz, New York Times
Unless your idea of a good joke is a golf ball thwacked into an unsuspecting crotch or the old frying-pan-in-the-kisser gag, you probably won't like this movie.
-
Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times
The film is amiably silly, gaudy and even pleasantly diverting for the non-Hindi-speaking viewer who realizes that the verbal gags that elicited laughter in the original language tend to elude translation via English subtitles.
-
Manish Gajjar, Birmingham Mail
Entertainment without a care in the world for anything that might resemble a conventional sense of logic.
-
Simon Foster, sbs.com.au
Determinedly colourful, ADD-edited and over-staged in every way, Double Dhamaal leaves one feeling grimy, thoroughly demoralised and viscerally exhausted.
-
Maitland McDonagh, Film Journal International
It's pretty damn dumb, but if you're looking to convince someone that "subtitled foreign-language movie" does not equal "art film," Double Dhamaal is Exhibit A.
