Jean-Claude Van Damme brings on strong star power as the two main leads and hammers home some great action sequences. An exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping action-packed thrill-ride. It's smart, funny, thrilling and heart-pounding from start to finish. Loads of fist, kicks and explosive fire power. Action dose not get better or hotter than this.

The twin thing has been done many times previous to this and whlst most JCVD films have a similar kind of theme, revenge over somebody close etc, this one lacked in anything new Martial Arts-wise, a little too much show boating instead of skill.

  Double Impact" was one of the first Van Damme movies I saw, and it was the one that made me a major fan of fighting movies in general. Jean-Claude Van Damme plays two roles in this action packed fighter. Two identical twins were separated when they were only a few months old after their parents were killed. Frank (Geoffrey Lewis) brings them together after 25 years of separation. The charismatic Chad (Van Damme) and the troubled Alex (Van Damme) collide at first, especially when Alex suspects that Chad might be trying to take something real valuable away from him. But they do have a couple of things in common other than their looks. They both have the same enemies, and they're both GREAT fighters. Yeah yeah, critics, non-fans, and even fans alike, all say that Jean-Claude Van Damme is a terrible actor. I don't know about everybody else, but I thought Van Damme did a good job portraying Alex (the evil twin) in this movie. But then again, when it comes to fighting movies, I don't care about great acting, I want to see some great fighting and action sequences, and "Double Impact" has tons of them! All in all, "Double Impact" might not feature the greatest effects, acting, or plot, but it does have some of the best fighting! If you like fighting movies at all, get "Double Impact." It's damme good!! NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2001. I always cite this and "Sudden Death" as my favorite Van Damme movies.

  Yet another twin brothers plotline from Van Damme, he just loves to see two of himself on the screen haha I admit when I was a teen I loved this film, it does have some good action sequences and some good fights, this is mainly down to it being in Van Dammes 'Eastern film' period with the likes of 'Bloodsport' and 'Kickboxer', and using the same talented Eastern cast members that were used in both mentioned films. So yes this is in Hong Kong again but that adds to the scenery and style of the film nicely. Its predictable and hammy sure but Van Damme still did the business really well back then and we all kinda loved him for it. The double effects on Van Damme arent too bad either, sort of :) your typical 80's flick really, long haired baddies, big female assassins and oodles of neat little quotes.

  JCVD faces off with himself yet again (I'm sure I can think of at least two others where this happens) to the usual dim-witted kickboxing effect. It's not the worst Van Damme you're going to see, but let's face it, even the best ones are garbage.

  Chad and Alex Wagner (Claude Van Damme) are separated at birth, grows up in different parts of the world and thus learn different skills. One brother is supposed to be skilled in Martial Arts and the other in firearms. They team up together to seek revenge on the killers of their parents. Bolo Yeung (Bloodsport) plays Moon, one of the henchmen responsible for the parents' death. Some okay action scenes, but this is not one of Van Damme's best.

  Oh, how this movie was just a No Laughs-Unbarred brainless, Unknowingly Crazy- half assed action flick, that Gets a few Kicks out of it's self, and with some pretty good dialouge, but that is about it. Not many will enjoy this Jean-Claude Van Damme film, Not Reccomended.

  What a piece of garbage, Van Damme playing twins??? It's like Lindsay Lohan killing herself with I know who killed me. Double Impact has some good choreography, but the unoriginal storyline and bad Asian extras failed to sustain the entertaining value.

  2 Van Dames are better than one ? Van Damme stars as twin brothers that were separated at birth. The both of them of course know how to kick ass and battle bad guys together.
