Plenty of opportunity for him show present his muscles and kick the crap outta people. Rodman just did an awful job acting as well.

Yikes, I'm embarassed to say that I saw this in the theaters and actually liked it. It's funny and exciting and Mickey Rourke is fantastic. Jean-Calude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman are actually make a good (double) team. Yuck, did I just write that?

Of the two Tsui Hark US debuts starring Van Damme - this was by far the weaker one. It's like you hand Monet a box of crayons and tell him to color by numbers. Tsui Hark is a genius, but you can't tell by this piece of shit. The other film - Knock-Off was actually pretty good though considering how bad it is. This film is watchable, but Rodman makes much of it unbareable.

dont care what you say, movie had some great ideas. he not only gets back in fighting shape, he trains holding his breath knowing he'll have to escape underwater he slices off skin from his thumb and makes a delayed reub goldberg device to activate his thumbprint i.d. while he's away.

A lot of people give it flack for the Rodman stuff, but when Van Damme's at THE COLONY, it's actually a seriously cool movie. Mickey Rourke also makes a helluva bad guy. Tres kewl. :>

I've watched some parts of the movie on the Cable TV at my uncles place.. I remembered that I've seen it before.. and it was pretty okay.. =) I wrote down the name just to make sure that I've rated this one since is sooo old =)

It's hard to believe that Dennis could be in a movie shittier than Simon Sez, but, he continues to surprise! JCVD couldn't even save this. The best part was when someone tried to suffocate JCVD with a bag when he was underwater...that's like choking a guy who's being hung. Luckily for JCVD he broke free of the guy before underwater lasers blew him up...yep..1 star.

Van Damme and Dennis Rodman in this action packed movie with explosions and an ok storyline. If you like Van Damme movies and haven't seen it you may as well.

I was actually quite surprised when I realised this was released in 1997, I remembered quite enjoying this when I was younger, so was expecting it to be from Van Damme's heyday in the 80's.
That said, I rate this film up there with Bloodsport in Van Damme's best. Rodman doesn't bring a whole lot to the picture, but he does bring that little extra in way of comedy, where Van Damme brings the action. -

HILARIOUS!!!! Bad cinema at its absolute finest! buff 80's star - check, token black sidekick - check, Oiled muscles - check, homo-erotic content - check, bad acting - check, bad tagline - check. Wow i think it qualifies for everything needed to be under ruthless reviews 80's action guide. If you enjoy taking the piss out of bad cinema and laughing at how poorly made films can be then look no further than double team. It has it all. Not to mention a fight scene featuring a land mined Colosseum where an oiled up Mickey Rourke lurks, Dennis Rodman changing his hair every 5 minutes and Jean Claude, at one point, wearing a fantastic disguise. Sheer laughs all the way through.
