Hungarian cinematographer Tamás Sas directs the psychological drama Szerelemtol Sujtva (Down by Love). Patricia Kovács (Grand Dutchess Anastasia in HBO's Rasputin) plays Eva Kerezkes, a young woman who lives alone in an apartment. After her parents' death, she was adopted by writer Tibor and his wife, Klara. Upon returning from a holiday in Italy, Eva performs various tasks around her apartment that reveal haunting information about her past sexual relationship with Tibor (Gábor Máté). ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Never does Down by Love, handsome and fully crafted, have the feel of being a filmed play. It emerges as a fresh, challenging and unpredictable experience with a stunning finish."
‑ Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times
"[Kovács] gives a virtuoso performance, one that calls to mind the fraught sensuality of Catherine Deneuve in Repulsion and the steely innocence of Audrey Hepburn in Wait Until Dark."
‑ Chuck Wilson, L.A. Weekly
"Patricia Kovács, one of Hungary's top young actresses, provides a special electric performance in a complex role."
‑ Dennis Schwartz, Ozus' World Movie Reviews
