Dracula - Dead and Loving It

Leslie Nielsen, Steven Weber, Mel Brooks, Amy Yesbeck, Harvey Korman

Another spoof from the mind of Mel Brooks. This time he's out to poke fun at the Dracula myth. People are attacked by Dracula, and Dr. Van Helsing is brought in to save the day.

This should of been top quality brooks stuff instead its very average. There are some good parts, the staking with Brooks, Neilsen as Dracula and McNicole as Renfield, but only here and there does it work. Overall its very childish and too silly, Its also very poor looking, obvio...( read more)usly sets. I really wanted to see some spooky, eerie landscapes, graveyards and old castles etc.. but its very plain, shame.

Have you ever wondered why Mel Brooks hasn't directed a movie since 1995? This is not Young Frankenstein. Hell, this isn't Young Einstein. This is probably the worst film I've ever seen in my life. I have had bowel movements after food poisoning that were more enjoyable and enter...( read more)taining than this flaming pile of shit. Anyone that rates this film over two stars needs to be checked for mental retardation. If I had a gun I would have shot myself in the head after the first twenty minutes. That's how bad this turd is. I was physically ill when leaving the theater knowing that I had blown $1.50 and 90 minutes on this garbage. I could have spent that time in a more positive manner like clipping my toe nails or lying in a coma. I am warning you: stay away from this film.

Lol good!!! It is a parody of Dracula by Bram Stoker, and of some of the movies the novel inspired. It spoofed, among other movies, the most recent Dracula adaption, Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).
The casting was perfect...Mel did a good job on this one as all his other movies...

A comedy that hits the right notes only some of the time. The pairing of Leslie Nielsen and Mel Brooks is smart, but the films proves nothing compared to Brooks' classics like Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Spaceballs. A good film for some hilarious moments.

A Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielson movie which hits you over the head with its lameness. Quit it, Mel... you're killing us with your unfunniness. I was groaning at the lack of good jokes in this limp effort.

Uneven. A couple of absolutely brilliant scenes, bu not quite enough of them. Then again parody isn't really my thing, unless it's incredibly clever. This was just kind of clever. Loved the dance-scenes though.
