Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks, and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home. In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

A stylish, witty, and highly entertaining little horror romp with just the right amount of horror, humour, and gross out. This is Raimi back in top form, doing what he does best!

    Highly recommended.

Homage to old school horror from Raimi which starts promisingly but descends into mumbo jumbo. Nice set pieces and stirling work from Lohman can't hide a plot twist so obvious it might as well have been written large across the screen. Missed opportunity.

Sam Raimi goes back to his horror roots. It's a welcome return after doing the Spiderman trilogy and whilst this movie is slightly scary and has a couple of gross out moments I wouldn't call it a classic by any means from him. It's not going to scare you witless or anything. Wher...( read more)e was the suspense? The story isn't too bad and I like Alison Lohman as the cursed bank worker. The 'twist' at the end of the movie could be seen from way off. I expected a lot better from Raimi but as the end credits were rolling I was left slightly wanting.
