Dragons Forever

Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Biao Yuen

A fitfully amazing, frequently disheartening hodgepodge of action, farce, and romance, slapped together as a costarring vehicle for three of Hong Kong's major movie stars: Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung (who...( read more  read more... ) also directed), and Yuen Biao. Its light-footed, try-anything spirit makes it consistently enjoyable, but these wonderful performers are working (to put it kindly) beneath their gifts. Chan plays a womanizing attorney who recruits arms-dealer Hung and madcap inventor Biao to dig up dirt on the corporate sleaze balls he's supposedly defending--industrial polluters (and heroin smugglers) whose effluents threaten the bucolic fish farm of a handsome widow woman. The trio doesn't have many collective scenes, so their Three Musketeers act never really gets off the ground. As always, the fights and stunt work are mind-boggling; the jaunty details are fun: Chan's flick-of-the-wrist trick with a fancy briefcase; Hung's deft run- through of a few choice Cantonese opera moves; and Yuen Biao's Olympic-level acrobatics on, around, and within an industrial steel-tube staircase. --David Chute

Typical Jackie Chan flick - but had some VERY good fight scenes - expecially the last fight scene - the action was so fast they had to slow down the camera shot!

One of the best Jackie Chan/Sammo Hung movies.

The last film to feature the "Three Brothers" together and it is a classic of Hong Kong cinema. It just looks and feels right, a must see for any Jackie Chan fan.

The farcical comedy is pretty good here, but it's the final fight scene that makes it one of my favorite Chan movies.

One of Jackie's best, for sure. I like that Sammo and Yuen had a lot of screen time, as well. Not as many fights scenes as I would have hoped, though.

The final three brothers film with Jackie, Sammo, and Yuen Biao. Probably the weakest of the three, but still very entertaining. Features the rematch between Benny Urquidez and Jackie Chan.

The martial arts in this are amazing. The story is pretty pointless and difficult to follow. It mixes love story with hardcore martial arts. It wouldn't surprise me if more than half the stunt crew ended up with stitches or casts. The contact blows and the body reactions are to...( read more)o real to indicate typical modern stunts and fancy camera angles. Definitely worth it to see for the action shots!
