DuBarry Was a Lady
This adaptation of Cole Porter's Broadway musical features Red Skelton, Lucille Ball and Gene Kelly. After winning a Derby, nightclub coat-check boy Louis Blore mistakenly drinks a 'Mickey' that sends him into a fantastic dream. Louis imagines himself as King Louis XV of France, and the cabaret singer he adores as his Madame Du Barry.

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"The best part of the movie is the opening half hour or so in the nightclub, where we see a series of entertainers perform their acts, from Ball to Kelly to Tommy Dorsey."
‑ John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis
