  There's a fine line between dumb enough to make a hilarious movie, and so ridiculously dumb that it's hard to even let out a nervous laugh here and there. Though the original DUMB AND DUMBER was a good example of a former, this prequel is the perfect example of the latter. DUMB AND DUMBERER: WHEN HARRY MET LLOYD is more of an homage to DUMB AND DUMBER than anything. The form of "dumbness" isn't even similar to the original, there is no similar plot, and it looks like two truly-smart teenagers imitating the believable stupidity of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. All in all? This isn't worth watching. For fans of the original DUMB AND DUMBER, you'll begin to miss the real Jim Carrey because of the awful impersonations you'll find here.

This film one of the worst films that I have ever seen, and it doesn't deliver anything funny or amusing. The film instead of being funny is irritating with it's stupid attempt at "good" comedy which of course fails fails on all levels. If you're lucky you'll stay away from this film. If you're unlucky, you can warn fans of Dumb & Dumber how bad this prequel is. This film scrapes the bottom of the barrel and goes further still. All the actors here for exception of Luis Guzman suck. I'm actually surprised that Guzman acted in this. Dumb & DUmberer is actually a fairly great title for this film because it certainly is dumberer and makes the viewer feel dumberer for having watched it. Thnere's nothing great about this film, it's a dreadful train wreck of a movie that you wished you hadn't seen in the first place. The film is thebtype of movie that you wish could be unmade and whipped off the face of the earth. Dumb & Dumberer is nothing but a sorry piece of crap prequel thatjoins a few other films that filmmakers have tried to cash in on its far superior counterpart. Of course I'm refereing to films like Slap Shot 2, 3, Sandlot 2,3 and Caddyshack 2. All of these films failed to capture what made the originals so great. Now Dumb & Dumberer is among those sad, mediocre titles as one of the worst prequel/ sequel ever made.

  Weirdly enough, this was actually slightly entertaining. Sure, it's a sequel to a movie that could have not ever been made and no one would care, but it still delivers some nice timing and comedy skills unknowns aren't liable to possess.

  this is stupid. why should i want to watch 2 morons impersonate Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey (and badly) and why WHY did i not check the back of the box to see if the LaBoof was in it?!? Ok so i just saw it again, and it actually DID NOT make me puke my fucking lunch up! so hoorah!

  OK, it's pretty bad, but it's soo bad that is is super hilarious! Even thought that cast sucks, it is sort of held by the jim carrey replacement!

  It's a lot more juvenile than the original, but it was a lot better than I expected. It had a lot of inside jokes from the first and you could tell it was made by fans. Eric Christian Olsen actually did an almost dead on impression of Jim Carrey, I was really impressed.

  The actors were really well cast and looked like younger versions of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Their adventures are lame and on the gross-out side. Dumb boys!

It had some really hysterical moments, and Hollywood chipped in with cameos (by Saget, Shia LaBouf, Cheri Oteri, Mimi Rogers, and Eugene Levy to name a few.) It most defiantly doesn't live up to the original, but surprisingly it wasn't terrible. Eric Christian Olson does a terrific job as Lloyd, the story of how they met, as well as references to the original, and the cameos make this film worth seeing. It really isn't as bad as you might think it would be.

  This movie is an insult to the previous movie starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, a huge monument to crappy sequels. Granted there are a few laughs, however they are few and far with recycled references to the original.
