as the box says macy is cast perfect for this...well worth the 3 pound 50p.

I ultimately enjoyed this movie, especially the last scene with Macy and Woodbine, but the beginning was so ridiculous that I almost gave up. Hang in there - it has a fairly short running time, and the last 1/2 hour makes the sometimes painful journey worth it.

i Really didn't need this. and you don't either.

Macy gives very good performance. Unfortunately, the rest of the cast doesn't mesh well with the Macy's character. Unfortunately, most of the rest of cast are only in the movie for a few minutes.

Kinda weird...and I didn't like the way it ended...
  • November 7, 2007
It's just not very good. Macy is good, but he can't do it all by himself. It's trying to hard to be chocking and it's just ugly.

another great performance from macy, here he plays another lovable loser, who bored with his marriage, decides to leave her and go out on the town to get sex by paying for it, but the problem is he disagrees with many of the prices that are on offer, so varioous atempts, to get l...( read more)aid fall by the waste side, and finally through a couple of scrapes doesent have enough money, great change of pace in 2nd act as he goes to prison, does go quite dark great comic tale, and any fan of macy will love this hes never bad in a film even crap ones, and here he once again shows his acting chops. its great seeing him in a main role, and check out cameos from various actresses he encounters

William H. Macy's performance is brilliant, but the film is brutal for the sake of being brutal and any attempt it tries to make at social commentary is not explored deeply enough to be worth sitting through.

...i guess don't leave your wife..??

    Edmond: It's too much.

A strange drama/thriller involving William H Macy on a very weird sexual odyssey, leading to some harsh situations, which conclude in a worse manner.

It is based on an old play written by David Mamet, and despite my love for his dialog, this movie is just...( read more) to strange to really enjoy.

Certain scenes play out well or surprise, but the overall story just didn't sit right for me.

i liked it, but i had a hard time watching it at the same time... everything was so rude, so raw; it was an immersion in a life full of violence and there was no possible way to get out. william h. macy is a magnificient actor, i love his work so much and this makes no exception.

Nothing but madness of a man. It could happen to all of us. a Bad day with bad things.. Confusion, hate and extreme boring of life.. But i didn't really feel that with this movie. There're holes in the story. Dennis Richard and Julia Stiles were nothing to the story. William H. I promise i'll never watch it again!!

Fucked up movie with a great performance by Macy...too bad I lost all respect for him by doing Wild Hogs the same year.

I was curious about this indie production by director Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator).
Macy doesn't look like a killer, but is brilliant. His character, who fails while trying to change his life and reaching freedom, is clumsy but intense. The city at night is as dark and violent as...( read more) Edmond's soul. I particularly appreciated the ending, when Edmond finds his peace of mind in a very unusual way.

While not as controversial and disturbing as it wants to be, Edmond hugely benefits from Macy's powerful performance and the clever narrative elements from Mamet's work.

I really didn't expect this movie to "turn this way" , so for that its good.
  • July 5, 2007
William H Macy' gives a great performance of a dark and depressed character. After leaving his wife he takes to the seedy streets looking for what he thinks is freedom. His frustration leeds him to become violent and rascist.

a bit much for me- but Macy is, of course, wonderful
  • July 3, 2007
William H. Macy may have acted his bloodhound-face off in "Edmond" but that didn't save it from being one of the most unrealistic, ludicrous pieces of slow-moving, pretentious, twaddle that I have ever had the misfortune to watch.
  • July 2, 2007
If William Macy is in it...it's probably good.
  • July 1, 2007
Must have been much better as a play.
  • June 25, 2007
    hilarious and contains great dialogues.
William H. Macy makes a great performance in a depressing and intriguing character.
a good one to watch on a frustrating day. lol

I think the MPAA should consider an automatic NC-17 rating and a warning on all movies containing William H. Macy's ass. Seriously, what's the deal here? This movie was weird, but not in a good way. Pass, but if you want to see a great character driven acting performance type of ...( read more)movie, check it out.

I've never seen William H. Macy in this kind of movie. This movie is like Barney snapped and he has a shotgun in a daycare center
  • June 13, 2007
Not bad, but extremely stage bound and Macy's performance veers a little close to the unrealistically naive.

At least i can say I saw it...and witnessed it that the punishment definitely fit the crime for William H. Macy in this one. Looking for luv in all the wrong places...that he did...and found it in the wrong place too! LOL! See it if you want to get tormented like he did...

Falling Down directed by a man with more balls.

I have many things to say about this terrible mistake of humanity. It can all be resumed in WTF!!!!???
  • May 25, 2007
William H. Macy gives me the creeps.

I'll be honest, this movie was pretty quirky and strange but also quite interesting. At first, we meet the character of a pretty mild businessman that is a little disappointed with having a meeting being pushed back to a certain time.

Enter the odd little fortune-telling place h...( read more)e encounters with those same digits. Then the odd cards he receives in his tarot reading. Which causes him to go home and leave his wife, after he realizes how boring it all is.

Then, after going to the bar and meeting quite a character that seems to brainwash him about things. Things get really weird, a whirlwind of events that seems to spiral out of control. A story of a lonely man trying to fill the emptiness he feels.

William H. Macy does a wonderful job of portraying such a mild-mannered soul that suddenly goes out of control and does so many things that are looked down upon in society.

Getting a hooker is expensive, street card gaming people are cheaters and pimps apparently want to kill you. Even after all this he still continues to search the streets for something. Well, after that the boredom kind of disappears.

I noticed when watching this piece that Edmond seemed to be a little obsessive when he spoke about certain things. He also seemed to be reiterating the words spoken to him at the bar and then adding on. Spiralling into madness that leads to other events that only seem to get him in trouble.

There is one part in the movie which is almost heartbreaking when he's discussing things with the priest. And then, somehow it kind of winds down and things begin to settle.
