  • Maitland McDonagh, Miss FlickChick

Simultaneously utterly grotesque and surreally beautiful, Teruo Ishii's sexadelic freakout is a must-see for adventurous moviegoers with a taste for the macabre.

... I offer great praise to Synapse Films for not only releasing it but taking the time and effort to give it such a solid presentation.

As a piece of high trash cinema, the film emerges as something of an uncovered masterpiece.

A glorious piece of high trash cinema that definitely belongs in the "So Bad, It's Awesome" category.

Like Edogawa Rampo's greatest hits as told through the bizarre eye of Terou Ishi. Great stuff, and thanks to Synapse (and the now defunct Panik House RIP) for bringing this film to North America. A strange, trippy watch.

This movie.....well it's fucking weird and great at the same time. Full of twists and fanciful delights.
