This is a low-budget adaptation of a well-publicized tragedy: the 1984 kidnapping and murder of Enrique Camarena, a U.S. narcotics agent. Mexican drug lord Rafael Caro-Quintero has been touted to be the gangster behind the killing. What makes this subpar drama with its stilted acting even less palatable is that it disclaims any relationship to real people, living or dead.
