Really decent feature that does give you alot of info and insight. The only problem, like other things like this, they always spend loads of time on the first film and not as much time on Empire and Jedi, especially Jedi.
They miss things out which you wanna know more about cos ...( read more)they spend all the time on New Hope. I would love to know more about Jedi and the Jabba scenes, Sarlacc, Jabba's palace etc...they always seem to focus on the same certain scenes.
I think three seperate features dedicated to each film would of been better, all about the same length and with all the deleted scenes from each film :)

    Good but still not perfect.

Interesting documentary if you're a true Star Wars geek, but if that's the case chances are you know most of what this documentary throws at you. Lots of cool archival footage though. I saw it once the trilogy came out on DVD (the first time) and haven't seen it since.

It was a pretty interesting documentary about how Star Wars came to be. However, if you're a fan of the series, you probably already know all the information given. It has a few facts I hadn't heard before, but it didn't dig all that deep into the film-making process which would'...( read more)ve been nice.

Empire Of Dreams: The Story Of The Star Wars Trilogy goes behind the scenes in the making of the original Star Wars trilogy, which forever changed the way movies are made, seen, and heard. It reveals how independent filmmaker George Lucas changed the rules of cinema...( read more) when his box office hit shaped the way we see and create films. I remember seeing parts of the 151-minute documentary on TV, but when I bought the DVD set for the Star Wars trilogy, I watched it so I could see the behind-the-scenes work, interviews, and all of the other featured stuff. It gave me some important facts from it, including my favorite one: "Blue Harvest" was the code name of Return Of The Jedi, which was originally titled Revenge Of The Jedi. Yeah, I guess I learned a lot from the making of the first three Star Wars movies - and it was, in many ways, educational. Directed by Edith Becker and Kevin Burns and starring George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, James Earl Jones, Peter Mayhew, Frank Oz, and Billy Dee Williams.
